I have been struggling with bad D for the past month or so. Yesterday I ate an entire avocado, and this morning the D was gone and I feel much better. Is this just a coincidence, or did the avocado really help? Thanks!

I'm going to talk to my doctor again about tapering off the Prozac. I think I can do it, if I do so slowly. I plan on cooking the beans. Ordinary, old-fashioned Quaker oats: no other ingredients listed. Could this be the culprit? My lab results specifically said I show no sensitivity to oats. ------...

Questions About Legumes, Prozac, and the Absence of Norman
Hi, All: I am still in the process of my New Year's strategy, and it is slow going. After nearly three weeks on budesonide, GF, DF, EF and no raw fruit or raw veggies, I still have D. Being very careful about what I eat and trying to be patient. I realize it takes time, but I admit I was hoping for ...

Hi, Tiffany: Your doctor probably was not clear with his Rx instructions (mine wasn't), but budesonide should be taken all at once first thing in the morning, not spread out throughout the day. Also, I have been told that if you decide to take the medication after all, it will take a bit longer for ...

Question About Sweeteners
Hi! I know that we should avoid artificial sweeteners, candy and fresh fruits. However, is it okay to put a little local honey in my tea? I think it helps with the pollen allergies around here. Also, I've been looking at some homemade applesauce recipes, and they call for brown sugar and white sugar...

Hi, Jennifer: I just ordered a 90 day supply of budesonide from the India pharmacy, and feel comfortable with the transaction. I paid with e-check. If Tex says it's safe, that's good enough for me. For some reason, Pepto does not work for me either. @ Terri: Thanks for the encouragement! I am reliev...

Thank you so much everyone for the good advice! My health insurance does not cover prescriptions, and budesonide is over $1,200 for a 30 day supply. I managed to get some for $10 before I had to downgrade my coverage. My old coverage that included prescriptions was bumping up to $800 per month! The ...

My New Year's Strategy - What Do You Think?
After two years of suffering, I've decided to take positive action. My MC is not going to go away by itself. I'm reading Wayne's book, and I've just received the results of my Enterolab tests. Sure enough, I'm sensitive to gluten, dairy, eggs, beef, and tuna. I started the "BRAT" diet toda...

Radiation Treatments and MC
Hi, All: I'm new here. Recently diagnosed with LC. I've had D for about ten months now. Had breast cancer last year (stage one, thank goodness). Lumpectomy, then radiation treatments for one month. No chemo. The surgeon removed the lymph nodes under my arm pit. Question: could the radiation and/or t...
