Lesley, You are so right. There are alot of folks here who are understanding and supportive especially to us newbies. I was hoping to get that lab test to see if I have additional food triggers and I can still do that but out of my own pocket if a dr doesn't order it. Not sure which is worse D or C....

Thanks Tex and Cynthia,
I was pretty bummed because I thought more of this Dr than all the others before. Oh well and you are both right about taking charge of
our own health. This is going to be a healthier year than the last one for sure.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

My GI let me down

I finally got up the nerve to ask my GI over the phone if she would order the tests from Enterolab. She knows I took gluten out of my diet and I said I was still having issues about every other day and wanted to see if we could identify other food triggers. Her response was no she wouldn't order the...

Hi Lesley,
So glad to hear you've finally gotten some relief. It is absolutely miserable to be in that
condition. Now to find the happy medium.

Hi Tex, I didn't realize the Pepto treatment doesn't work right away. Glad I haven't started that yet. Sara sorry you had a spell too and glad to hear you both are better. They seem to last about 24 hours for me and now I am much better but it does make one cautious so maybe they do serve more of a ...

Thanks everyone for all the tips. Just getting over a very nasty early morning reaction to something and I can't figure out what I ate. I thought everything was "safe" but sometimes I forget or would like to forget that I am also supposed to be on a bland diet too and fried my pork chop. I...

Hi Paula and Gloria, Thanks for the info on Pepto. I did try the liquid on a particularly bad D day and it didn't seem to help at all. Are you all like me? Wired up backwards so that what is supposed to help doesn't? I had to fight this all my life. Must be the genes or DNA or something. Maybe it wo...

Whew! Thanks all for the information and encouragement. I don't think I've had any serious side effects except I did get a monster headache one day briefly and DH will be glad to hear that he was right about my grumpiness being caused by meds. So it's all about the diet and healing and getting the l...

All, Thanks for the response on going cold turkey off of prednisone. I was on 20mg and stopped it 8 days ago and started with 9mg of Budesonide same day. What kind of side effects will show up? I've had some D but not excessive. Thanks also for all the advice on the trip too. Imagine meeting a membe...

BTW my GI said stop prednisone and take entocort as in cold turkey. I didn't think that
could be done either but called the local pharmacist and he said it was safe. Other than the D I had anyway, I've had no bad effects from this but still feel it's not recommended.

Hi everyone, I really want to get the Enterolab tests done just to know and it's on my list of things to do maybe after the holidays. The reason for bringing up the Pepto treatment besides the relief it may offer is DH and I are scheduled to tour the Holy Lands in February. Can you imagaine? I must ...

Hi Tex and Zizzle, Yes I did get a diagnosis from my GI of MC all though I don't know which kind and she also ruled out celiac disease. The rheumatologist of course diagnosed auto immune disorder so when I get into a bind I don't always know who to call on at least until now. I am starting to get th...
