Travel and flare ups....

Hi there, I haven't posted in a LONG time. I was diagnosed in 2010 and have been in remission up until the past year when I have traveled on 3 separate occasions. Two times in the US and once to Aruba. I have come home and within a week am having explosive diarrhea multiple times a day for a period ...

HI Martha, With this LC hitting me at age 45 my progesterone and estrogen started swinging up and down. I decided to just let nature do its thing as no extra hormones were helping my situation. I also learned through my DNA that I was Naturally going to go thru menopause at an earlier age so at tha...

I know nothing about this medication however; I have not had a period for several years (I am now 53). Not sure how old you are but after trying several medications to restart my period in my 40's I finally had a good discussion with a specialist who asked me if I was planning on getting pregnant (n...

I am So sorry you're struggling. I hope you find some relief soon. I know all too well the panic and distress that a flare can trigger. Anything that is causing you stress? Have you tried yoga or meditation? I agree with tex, try to simplify everything, take every extra out and hopefully you'll be b...

Welcome to the group. I'm not a medical professional, but those vomiting episodes sound to me like food allergies.

YES! 100% agree Tex. I vomitted 2-3 times and realized it happened whenever I ate a food trigger (garlic for me was a big no-no). Have you had food testing done?

Re: First appointment with GI since diagnosis

I really don’t want to take it unless I absolutely have to. So what I’m wondering is, have people “fixed” their LC without the need for Budesonide? Can I safely ignore her advice and try diet only? Right now I have been following the Autoimmune Protocol of the Paleo diet for one week. The pain/cram...

I too had a GI with a terrible bedside manner....she told me just to "try gluten for the heck of it". She also told me if I stopped the medications that she had prescribed and just tried diet changes, she would see me back in her office within 2 months (it has been 2 years in remission now...

I am in the same boat, am 53, no history of cancer, had 2 colonoscopys within a 2 year period in my early 40's due to symptoms and now GI doctor wants me to have another. I am not going back to the same GI doctor or anyone in that practice and have decided to wait a while. I also need to find a new ...

So glad to hear that it worked for you Heather. I know budesonide gave me back my life when I was in the throes of this disease. I have been working hard to stay in remission (for 2 years) with low stress, good food and regular sleep and exercise.

Welcome Linda. Sorry you had to find us. You seem to have a great attitude. Have you changed your diet at all? I found that budesonide helped control my flare but it wasn't until I changed my diet that I was able to get remission. Lialda didn't work for me at all. We've all been there with the accid...

Thanks for posting this Kari. I am convinced that Vitamin D will help to beat this virus. I listened to a podcast last week that spoke about the low incidence of the virus amongst the homeless population in California. Sunlight is key, in my opinion which is why I'm thankful our weather is turning b...

I am in remission so my feedback is different. I broke my neck approximately 13 years ago getting bucked off a horse. I have incredible neck pain and had tried some topical ointment in a cream form (that my nephew tells me is VERY strong) and it provided no relief at all. Hubby has tried it for his ...
