Just an update, after 3 days of 9mg. budesonide, I finally had a norman! Planning on decreasing down to 6mg. and will see how that goes and hopefully down to 1 a day soon. Just an FYI, I found the side effects much worse this time, major face breakouts, irritable, terrible metallic taste in my mouth...

Thanks Tex. It makes sense to go back to the full dosage for a while until I get back to normans. I'm not entirely comfortable with self-prescribing however; I refuse to call my GI as she told me to start eating Gluten again and you're right, she initially had prescribed me meds for 8-9 weeks and wa...

Not as successful as I'd hoped....
Unfortunately, after 8 days off budesonide and normans, I am back to major D 4-5 times a day and that is taking 3mg. a day. Today is day #4. Does anyone think I should increase back up to 2 (6mg.)until I get a handle on this?

Thank Tex and Gloria....I did have a bit of a setback last night. Had been feeling the burning, cramping, stomach pains, etc. yesterday and decided to take 1 pill last night. I had some cough drops yesterday and think that may have been what triggered my stomach upset. My BM was very loose this am a...

I decided to completely eliminate the budesonide last week, as I was off from my job. I am now on Day 7 with no D and am back to 1-2 normans a day!! Hope this continues. I am so grateful for this board and feeling some what guilty as I haven't experienced this disease for as long as most of you have...

Hi Cathy, You've asked an extremely important question and I agree with Joe that the slow and steady wins the race with entocort taper. I'm hoping some of the other readers and Tex will chime in here. How long have you been on Entocort in total? I believe the history of this board is being on Ento ...

Taper off entorcort..
Hi All, Well it's day 3 of 1 pill a day of Entocort and still no D!! I hope this continues. I'm going to try to stop taking it all together at the end of the week. Since my GI has not been helpful with this process, anyone have any tips for decreasing from 1 a day? Should I go to every other day? An...

Entorcort successful.....
Hi again everyone, I have been taking Entorcort for 9 weeks and am currently on 6mg. a day with no D. Two weeks ago I tried tapering down to 1 a day and my explosive D came back in addition to stomach pain so increased back to 2 with my GI's blessings. Today will be the 2nd day with no BM so I would...

Thanks so much for everyones responses! I am thinking that I'll just stick with my GF/DF diet, taper down the Entorcort and hopefully my eye issues will resolve with the steroid ointment. I was thrilled that the opthamologist acknowledged and verified that my eye problems were related to my MC. It's...

Opthamologist appt.
Just wanted folks to know I just had my eye appt. She diagnosed me with Blepharitis and wants to get the inflammation under control before she looks @ a possible prescription for glasses. She called in a steroid ointment and eye drops (I apologize but I didn't write the specific med. down) and I'm t...

Re: Super bloated
My stomach is sticking out in front of me like a 7 month pregnancy. It feels like it is full of air. I am having horrible cramps, but no real BM. Just some yellow mucous. I had the endoscopy on Friday. Could all this reaction be from the anesthetic? Another question: The more bloated I get the more...
