There's no comparison between being on prednisone and being on Entocort. I also had difficulty sleeping when I was on prednisone, but since I had to get up for work, I just endured it. As you know, Entocort doesn't cause any side effects. I hope you can get off the prednisone soon. I don't ever wan...

Re: CC and IC
Karen thanx for the reply, I too have lost weight, with no appetite that is no surprise. You know if you read all the info given in the forum it'll drive ya crazy. I am afraid to travel in the event I am in trouble again. The GI's told me it may never happen again or it could happen tomorrow. I don...

Re: What now?
Hi, two weeks ago I was diagnosed with CC and Ischemic colitis via a colonoscopy and biopsy. I was rushed to the hospital because I was hemoraging. I was transfused and was sent home with the dignosis. I have since seen my GI and was told to take Pepto Bismol and eliminate caffene, lactose, and do ...

Making a mess while out of the house - or at home - was more humiliating to me than wearing the things. My take on it is that were they invented to help a medical problem and avoid a mess. They did. But as you say, everyone's different. To me, it was a Godsend to not have D running down my legs ont...

My decision not to take Endocort is based on recommendation from two doctors, as i have high blood pressure and glaucoma and my past history with steroids for asthma, and the permanent damage it caused. Also, i have worn pads, but they did little good when it was watery D. Just drained down my legs....

Imuran could be what he prescribed for that patient. My PCP really didn't say , just that it was a drug used to treat crohn's, and has been effective for that patient. I was just guessing on the Humira. Imuran is probably cheaper anyway. I won't take steroids for more then a couple of months because...

I've been GF/DF/SF for a little over a month now. Seen a little improvement. Still losing weight. Eat beef, chicken, fish and rice or potatoes for meals. I went to my PCP for the first time since my diagnosis, and shockingly, she is familiar with CC. Said she had 3 other patients with CC. I explaine...

DebE13, I have had serious dry eye issues for years. Probably 20 years. I have had plugs for years, and have had no problems with them. Actually have had several sets because they can come out after awhile. My opto suggested the plugs, as using the steroid drops long term was an issue as I already h...

So.... now is corn a no-no? Did you use a tomato-based sauce on the pasta? That could be the problem. Tex Just salt and pepper and a pat of butter. Maybe the pat of butter did me in. I might give it another try, with noting but salt and pepper, and if I get watery D again, I guess I'll know. I was ...

Thanks Cindy. I decided to try some gluten free pasta as I am getting bored with potatoes and rice. I got corn pasta. It sure was a nice change. I enjoyed it.... but... this morning I have watery D. So.... now is corn a no-no? Guess I'll try rice pasta.... I think they have that. It's all just a pro...

Karen, I'm in the same place as you and new to this board as well. I'm still trying to figure everything out with diet, labs for allergy testing, etc. It's awful to be so sick with D. Eating scares me b/c I usually wind up hitting the toilet not too long thereafter. I sure wish there was a specific...

I'm not sure what mechanism is involved, but the disease seems to permanently alter our emotions and/or our tendency to express our emotions. I have a hunch that it has something to do with our perception of priorities and the reordering of those priorities PMC. Once we get our life back, we tend h...

I'll start with 250 mg, and if it causes D, I'll try soaking in Epsom salt. I've been GF/DF/SF free for 3 weeks now, and I can tell the difference. Improvement from 20 epsiodes of watery D, to maybe one or two. I took myself off Prednisone because of the side effects, so I am happy with these result...
