If I'm in a situation where I can't use a microwave or oven, I'll also take hummus along with me (non-soy brands) as I can tolerate it and in a pinch it works great. Maybe try some cultured almond milk yogurt as well. My fav go to is baked chicken with a little avocado and applesauce.

I've experienced the same myself. We have a sandwich shop that advertises gluten free options but the problem is that they don't bother to change their gloves, wash their cutting boards and use clean knives. I also learned my lesson the hard way by requesting the gluten free bread with their home sm...

Marliss- Wow, I'd never considered that french fries might be coated with wheat flour to keep them from sticking together although it makes total sense. We've all discovered that we have to be two steps ahead of everyone else. We have to read labels and anticipate cross contamination and getting sic...

I'd have to agree about the benefits I've been seeing with acupuncture. I've been seeing a traditional Chinese acupuncturist and taking herbal based remedies that she has given to improve my digestion and my qi. I'm seeing her about twice a week. My insurance doesn't cover acupuncture either (what a...

Went to an Applebee's restaurant over the 4th of July weekend for a family get together. We all converged on a small town Applebee's. Well, I was ready for a menu that was not going to be too friendly to my needs so I prepared and brought along my own chicken, banana, avocado... things I knew that I...

I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say about the use of gels such as you mentioned. I, too, had taken transdermally the types of NSAID's you mentioned. I had forgotten that I'd also been using Voltaren for pain in my left forearm and had been using it a few times a day for about 6 wee...

Leah- Nothing anyone says to me about this condition surprises or shocks or upsets me too much anymore. I've actually considered your comment about the skins on the fruits. I guess I thought (rather hoped) blueberries would be an easily digestible fruit. I do eat bananas and peeled peaches. I've bee...

Almond yogurt

Hi- Yes, Amande is the yogurt I'm using right now. Its not the best but it does beat no yogurt and if I put blueberries into the yogurt its palatable. Thanks everyone for the tip on soy. I'm watching for soy on labels. Question: Is there another word or set of words used to describe soy that would b...

Newly Diagnosed-Grateful to Find this Site

Hello All- I've been recently diagnosed with MC (LC) as of late April 2012. Needless to say, this can rock your entire world to the point of obsession. Or at least it has me. I have learned more from this board, which has been a true lifesaver, things I need to do to keep me from losing myself. I fe...
