Re: Why is most severe pain always at night?

Keep a journal and try eliminating 1 food for 1 week (for example rice). Sometimes foods start bothering us that never did before. Oddly, I was getting a side pain on and off and it would usually come on late afternoon and evening. I started eating 1 sheep milk yogurt (unsweetened) each day and the ...

Re: Adding in foods.

I went off gluten in 2012 shortly after getting diagnosed. Tried eating sourdough for a month in 2021. Boy, that was a mistake. I do ok with eggs. I rarely, if ever eat soy. I’m lactose intolerant, so I don’t do dairy except for 1 plain sheep milk’s yogurt daily.

Re: Salmon and other fish

I have oral allergy syndrome. In a nutshell, I'm highly allergic to birch pollen. Many fruits and nuts have a protein that is so similar that my body reacts the same way to these foods (hives, itching, etc) as it does to the birch pollen, even with fruits/nuts that I never eat. For example, I never ...

Re: Lymes and remission

Welcome HealingJourneyDay1! I was diagnosed with adenomyosis in March 2022. My Lyme was sometime around summer/fall 2021 (I'm only guessing based on bloodwork, but I don't know when I actually got bit). I was diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis in 2012. I suspect that the LC might have been triggered...

Re: Pregnancy

There was hardly any information about microscopic colitis a decade ago. I think they just didn’t know.

Re: Pregnancy

Amy,

I’m not sure what you mean by “high risk”. I was diagnosed with microscopic colitis in August 2012 and became pregnant June 2013.

Re: Pregnancy

I was not on budesonide. I was on Lialda during my pregnancy. Lialda is not considered to be safe anymore and not allowed during pregnancy. Many women go into remission during pregnancy and don't have any issues.

Yes. Bad flare that wouldn't quit 1st trimester, went on meds, weaned off in the beginning of my 3rd trimester. No flares 3rd trimester.

Re: I am feeling hopeless with Colleagues Colitis

I totally understand your feelings! When I was first diagnosed 9 years ago, I was going 20-25x a day. I can tell you that this disease will wax and wane. Diet is HUGE and I had to eliminate my triggers (for me that's all alcohol, gluten, dairy, fatty foods, all processed foods and no eating out). I ...

Re: Mesalamine success stories??

I've been on it twice, specifically Lialda. After dealing with MC for 9 years, I've found that I need to follow a strict diet, get a lot of sleep (more than the average person) and lead a healthy calm lifestyle, with plenty of outdoor time, in order to achieve and stay in remission. If I stray, I pa...
