Just a few thoughts... ESR (sed rate) test is an extremely nonspecific test and many doctors skip it now entirely and order the CRP instead. That being said.... I also have Ankylosing spondylitis but my CRP is still usually normal or just on the low side of elevated. HLA B27 is an antigen test that ...

Ankylosing spondylitis and Humira
I was dx with LC about 18 months ago. I was also in pain management for several years of chronic back pain of unknown origin and a new MD there found my ANA was very high at 1:640. I also discussed this with with my Derm who I was seeing for rashes on my hands and feet that I have also had for years...

I messed up!
Kinda... I think. I have been gluten free on 9mg Entocort for about a month now and have settled into a pretty much one a day routine of not Norman... but not really D either. Certainly managable. BUT... Of course i slipped some over the past few days- Not like huge amounts of things I shouldn't hav...

Blood?
Hmm..... I noticed blood one other time and today it's back. Not a lot... just blood tinged mucous. There is always a lot of mucous. Normal for LC??? I did an occult blood (stool test) just to be sure-Positive.

Thanks guys... I'm def going to look into that shake idea for work! Just frustrating... I certainly made it 24+ hours gluten free..... and ended up in a Hardee's bathroom at 6:30 in the morning sicker than I've been in a month :(. I don't know what set me off!! I ended up walking out of a meeting 3 ...

My first true GF day!!
I finally figured out the double edge sword to this....The fact I don't cook, never have cooked and don't enjoy cooking.... The thought of going GF has been overwhelming to me! But I think the biggest obstacle has been the fatigue. I don't have the energy (or time) to get up early to shop or cook. W...

med or diet?
Soo.... If I started the Entocort last week and this week start with the GF/kinda bland diet for a while... If my tummy calms down.... How do I know if its the Entocort or the diet? Can the med mask some of the milder reactions? Or will I just not really know for sure until I wean off the med in a f...

Thanks for all your great advice!! I think for the next few weeks I'm going to stick with bland... Chicken and rice, eggs, cooked veggies and a few canned fruits. And gluten free pretzels :) What about regular soda? Regular Coke and peanut butter crackers have always been my comfort food. (sigh). Th...

Diet... Where do I start?
So I believe it now I should try the GF diet. I will do anything at this point to get my energy levels up... I'm exhausted!! But I'm overwhelmed with just the GF diet.... Do I exclude milk and soy and eggs and nuts and all this other stuff all at once too? Or do I just start with the GF diet? AmyNicki

Newbie... First post!
Hi all..... I'm a 38 y/o mom of two recently diagnosed with LC. I always assumed I had IBS just because I had a sensitive stomach and a good meal would send me straight to the bathroom. It was actually a joke in the family- After a dinner out somewhere there would be no stopping at Target afterwards...
