James, We're pretty sure she's tried diet to the greatest extent possible. She has been gluten, dairy, and soy free for years. During that period, she's tried eating based on various allergy tests includling Enterolab. She's tried SCD, GAPS, paleo, Winston Price/Nourishing Traditions plans, FODMAP, ...

Jon, Both doctors used some version of autonomic response testing/muscle testing/kinesiology. You can google those for a real explanation if you're not familiar with it, but the doctor basically asks your body what the problem is and your body responds with different muscle responses (strong/weak) t...

James, My wife (she has LC) had a stool test detect blastocystis hominis. The only real relief she has experienced in the last few years was during an herbal parasite cleanse. Symptoms returned soon after stopping the treatment and it now seems parasite symptoms have spread from the gut to other are...

My water kefir was from dehydrated grains which might explain why they became a smelly slimy sludge in a few weeks. My milk kefir grains are indestructible though and keep on pumping out new batches. That's very exciting that you've seen such changes in your bowel habits. For my water kefir, in addi...

All very good points Tex. In their defense, I heard one interview where a chiropractor mentioned their training and education is roughly the same as it's been since the advent of the field back when more folks worked on farms, in factories and other physically demanding jobs. Changes in society have...

This has been a tough time. As Marie's husband it's tough to see her struggles with C.Diff and now MC. We definitely want to keep the C.Diff away. Thanks Tex for the support you offer.

Bumping this thread in the hopes of getting Eric's attention. Did you ever try FMT? Sorry, been away from the board for a while. To be clear, my spouse has MC and I've wanted to try this procedure as the donor. We've considered it for some time but have been hesitant as most doctors don't recommend...

Don't forget to add a reverse T3 every so often. It's possible all that T4 is being stored as reverse T3 but never making the final conversion to free T3 which your body can actually use. It's especially useful to know that number if you switch to dessicated thyroid meds and/or improve your adrenal ...

No problem. I knew thyroid sort of affected the entire body which can obviously include the GI but I wasn't aware of how they were directly related, including the excerpts you quoted.

Wow, I guess I'm the weirdo making yogurt just so I can get the whey. I'm left trying to figure out how to get rid of my yogurt cheese. Slightly different scale though.

Labs are useful but remember to pay attention to your symptoms as well. Thyroid function and gut health are closely intertwined and it's likely that one will not regain their health until BOTH are adequately addressed. Each is able to cause the other so we often don't know which is the chicken and w...

I dig it. Makes sense intuitively although I'm interested when research shows a benefit. I realize some are getting very detailed regarding the science behind it but, for me, it's more general and broad. Connection with nature benefits humans and is quite healing.
