Thanks for your input UkeleleLady. As of this morning I have stopped the Omeprazole, so I will keep my food journal near. I also started my Allegra pill back up and purchased a small bottle of the 10,000 IUI vitamin D. Before I went on the PPI, the nights I was having extreme pain I had a glass of w...

Thank you so much Jean and Tex. You really don't know how much I appreciate the information. I am vowing today to start to learn more about this MC, as I was too naive to believe that I could avoid gluten and be problem free. But to know that I can resort to vitamin d, or low card diet is so encoura...

Thanks Leah. I just have a feeling that this GERD came up out of nowhere, and it is related to inflammation somewhere. My Allegra pill was possibly keeping that inflammation at bay? I feel so uneducated compared to all of you. The doctor (who was very nice) who prescribed this PPI definitely knew I ...

After searching for connection between PPI's and MC, I see that there is a definite connection in that PPI's can cause MC flares! Which would very much explain why I feel the way I do, and my symptoms have gradually gotten worse. Can I ask yet another question. How do those of you with GERD treat it...

New symptoms out of the blue? MC related
Hello, I have only posted a handful of times, and I never seem to have any information to contribute here. So please forgive me that I am back again with more questions. I appreciate the helpful advice I get here. BG: I was fortunately diagnosed very quickly with MC in May 2013. I had great success ...

Those of you that feel your relapses come from stress, do you have other symptoms other than D? There have been times when I have had small bouts of D. Now I'll make note of whats going on in my life at the time. Deb, you make a good point about being conscious to complain less and laugh more! I fee...

Wow! I never would have expected that an illness/virus that causes its own symptoms, could wreak havoc with our MC. These past 6 months, I just had gluten (FREE) on the mind, thinking that if I avoid all gluten, I would be fine. That is why this threw me for such a loop. I just knew that the symptom...

Thank you so much Leah. Unfortunately yesterday I ate some kale soup, so you are very right about the fiber! My symptoms started a few hours after that, and I thought it had to have been some hidden gluten. But there was nothing. I appreciate the confirmation that this relapse is what is causing the...

I have enjoyed 6 months of remission after going gluten free. Last Friday night I came down with a bad stomach bug. Recovered on Saturday, woke up feeling great on Sunday. Diarrhea had subsided, and although I was not eating much, I was taking in food/drinks. Starting last night (Monday eve), I am i...

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is what I needed to hear. I know it sounds silly, but no one around me really gets this. I feel like my resolve would slowly fade over time if I am doubting it and family members are as well - not out of harm, just lack of understanding of MC and what caused it ...

In remission....now I am feeling invincible
and I know this is sort of a sticky wicket. I have found myself thinking "hmm, maybe I don't have a problem with gluten." I am a logical person, so I know the reason I am in remission is because I have been extremely vigilant in avoiding any form of gluten. But this is playing with my mind...
