Gluten, dairy, soy free, very simple diet, lots of lamb and turkey instead of my usual beef and fish worked for me. I ate a LOT of meat. helped me calm things down. The tests helped me narrow some things down but I figured out I had a problem with rice on my own, and turned to millet, quinoa instead...

I must be losing it. I've been here before and used HCL before. I am starting to forget things.

Anyone used Betaine HCL to aid/reverse reflux

Just because this is the place I always go to when I have a health problem - seriously - you guys are the best - Has anyone here benefited from using Betaine HCL to alleviate reflux? I'm going with the much spouted internet theory that I have low stomach acid, which, when appended with HCL will &quo...

I can't remember how long i was on it, but I felt I should have/ could have stayed on longer. The diet was what really helped, however, the budesonide sure lowered inflammation enough to give me a good baseline. I feel like the course should be longer, it is site-specific and not really a threat to ...

I reacted to rice - you might be reacting to rice. I ate very little grain when I was first starting out, and chose ones I never really ate previously - e.g., millet and quinoa. Not everyone can handle quinoa, but I was alright with it. I made my own muffins by grinding millet. And ate a whole lot o...

Hi LauraAnn, I am southeast of you in the BB region and man, the allergies here are crazy due to the high winds and gosh-knows-what is blowing around. I had some asthma attacks, unusual for me these days and some GERD and even some MC trouble. I had to take a steroid for the asthma and I'm really wa...

I don't like protein powders with a lot of ingredients. The more ingredients, the worse the food makes me feel. I *HAVE* used raw shelled hempseeds in my smoothies, while recovering, and I continue to use them. They did not cause a reaction. I find the taste neutral and nutty. 3 tablespoons have 10 ...

Rice was a huge problem for me when I had active MC. I would try a new grain, like quinoa or millet. I react to rice. White potatoes might be better, if you aren't allergic to them.

Re: Does anyone NOT have problems with gluten?

I think that even if I could get away with gluten, and I have ingested it accidentally with minimal effect since remission, I have no interest in eating it. I have listened to the top researchers' programs from the Gluten Summit a few years ago; Doctor Fasano is a leading researcher. His research su...

Re: Adominal pain

Hi Ann, welcome to the forum. I thought I had the most ridiculous GI, but, apparently, you do. The GI insists that the pain is due to lack of abdominal exercises??? Does anyone else suffer from chronic abdominal pain? They will say ANYTHING. I hope you consider going Gluten free, at the very least, ...

Yes, I had this and everyone said it was menopause. It wasn't. The back of my neck and head felt very hot like I couldn't cool down, as if I had heatstroke. It was very unnerving. I don't really experience it anymore. That is it exactly! The back of my neck and head. Which is different from menopau...

Re: Newbie, 32 years old, recently diagnosed

I know I need to address the inflammation aspect. Any pointers for this as I wait for the medication end of things to be sorted out. Thank you! Hi there, I was in my late thirties when I received my diagnosis. Stress is a major part of this. I did a lot of affirmation work and meditation in an atte...

something that helped when I had perioral dermatitis was to brush my teeth before washing my face at night, not after, to remove any sls or residues from toothpaste that might aggravate dry skin.
