I currently take only the LDN and lomotil. Lomotil is the only thing I have found so far that will give me a little relief, but it is getting less and less effective and if I eat during the day, it has no effect at all. I've tried the following: cipro, flagyl, xifaxan, questran, vsl #3, over the cou...

Downhill fast

Although my first symptoms started over 7 years ago, the last few months have brought on a rapid deterioration. I eat lomotil like candy, but can't make it from the bed to the the bathroom in the morning. Getting ready to see my third gastroenterologist. I keep getting referrals from well-wishers th...

Thanks, Tex. Exactly what I needed to hear. Good to know that the severity of my reaction was likely due to the short healing time. Makes complete sense!

Frustration

I've been doing so good since I found this board almost two months ago. I believe the elimination diet and a daily antihistamine have benefited me with almost normal bowel activity. It seems I got a little over-confident last night and ate two things that I had eliminated: an egg (combined with almo...

I don't have the answer but I just wanted to chime in that I also feel that way. I usually can't eat anything for at least 2 hours after waking up, and experience stomach churning until mid-late afternoon most days. By evening, I feel almost normal, and usually feel very good at bedtime. In the morn...

Thank you everyone for your responses. I do hope in the near future to do the Enterolab testing. Any recommendations on which test I should choose? Looks like the most expensive one is the way to go since it covers so many bases. Thanks again!!!

How important is getting a diagnosis?

So glad I found this site, I truly believe with the right doctor and testing, I'd be diagnosed with microscopic colitis. I have been to 5 doctors in the last 3 years, had a colonoscopy that came back perfectly normal, have been diagnosed with IBS, and was finally able to find one doctor who prescrib...
