I'm so sorry you've been struggling Becky but welcome to the board. It has taken me about 2 years after my diagnosis to really understand the importance of a strict diet. I've been yo-yoing between various drugs prescribed by my Gastro but I always have flare ups. I am finishing a round of budesonid...

Thank you Brandy, Tex, Gabes and Marcia for the supportive words. When I first came on the forum I was always looking for stories to give me hope that I could live with this condition in a positive way. Perhaps this installment of my story may help someone who is trying to get on top of her diet. Fo...

An update

I have just entered my 2nd month of an elimination diet and have been keeping a careful diet journal. My staple is ground turkey with jasmine rice. I add Herbs de Provence to the rice and sage to the ground turkey, which gives a bit of flavor. I am taking 3 mg budesonide (Entocort) every other day. ...

Very interesting Tex and Gabes. This feels like a 3 dimensional game of chess. I didn't really understand the disconnect with our group regarding dieticians before but now I get why you say that. It's just so individual and environmental, more than don't eat this or that. I certainly agree with the ...

On my Enterolab results potato and white rice are both in the "some immunological reactivity" category. I have had absolutely no reaction to rice in my elimination diet and so I decided to add some Cape Cod potato chips. Ok, I had a lot. Anyway, these are my favorite bad-girl food and I re...

My cousin sent me her Entocort once she went into remission and I put it in the drawer and forgot about it. When I had a flare up, over a year later, I took it and it worked just fine. I am not a believer in expiration dates. I read a similar thing about cortisol levels but it did not say at 7 a.m. ...

What is the difference between white rice and brown rice?

Based on what you have said I will probably pass on the additional testing.

Thanks for your response Tex.

Thank you so much for your response Gabes. I am freaking out about cheese because I absolutely love it! I also appreciate your reminder about other triggers. This is particularly helpful because I have had a stressful year but there is most definitely a light at the end of the tunnel. So perhaps red...

Enterolab Results and Questions

Hello fellow MC'ers. Below are my test results. I am pretty upset about eggs, soy and casein (if it means cheese), not to mention everything else. But I am thankful nothing is in the 3+ category. And, of course, I am confused. I have been on an elimination diet for 3 weeks with no issues at all. How...

Thanks so much Tex. I appreciate the info and I will head to the store tonight. I feel like I am finally getting on the road of normalcy, or rather a new concept of normal. I'm anxious to hear my test results.

Great suggestions all. Thanks! I now doing a really gradual tapering of budesonide with the elimination diet of turkey and rice and finally having Normans. I can't tell you how much better I feel. Plus, I just put my Enterolab sample in the mail. But I am wondering if I can add in my Vitamin D3 now ...

Tex:
Really interesting comments. I had no idea about the different make-ups of B-12. I'm so sorry about your peripheral neuropathy, but thank you for sharing. This makes me realize I need to jump on having my B-12 tested again.

Interesting comments about gelatin and bone broth. A couple of years ago my B-12 levels were extremely low although I do not recall any symptoms. I took supplements with no impact. My doctor had me take B-12 shots and eventually got the levels in the normal range. I haven't been tested recently but ...
