I am doing well, thank you. No D for well over 2 mos now, just dealing with having to limit my foods. Got my test results back and I am G,D,E,S intolerant. Still losing weight though. Dropped another 10 lbs. in the last month. I am hoping it is just from the strict diet change.

Linda,
From your list of allergies I see you are allergic to dairy. How do you use butter? Thanks!

Tex, Thank you so very much for that excellent explanation. It certainly appears that I will have to eliminate G,D,E,S from my diet to make everything heal properly. Thank GOD I have such a wonderful wife that is so attentive to all the food contents and is helping me through this. Stay well! Gary P...

My Test Results

I had the testing done and I received the following results today. I figured the Gluten and Dairy, but not the egg. Eggs never seem to bother me. I have been doing the GF DF for about a month now and I am feeling much better. I have had an occasional egg and I do eat products that say they have soy ...

Each of the 4x I was hospitalized with Atrial Fib was as a direct result of me having bad GI problems. As long as I can keep the belly under control everything with the heart seems ok. I also take a bunch of cardiac meds too. When I would tell my Cardiologist about it he seemed to disregard it. I gu...

Thank you both for your reply. Nothing is ever easy is it. Prior to having the extended bout of D and being diagnosed with CC I would have to take a stool softener just about every evening. It seems that I am back to having those same problems, which I suppose is better to some degree than the never...

From one extreme to the other

Hi all! After being diagnosed with the CC and experiencing all the wonderful effects of D I have been strictly sticking to a GF diet and with the exception of a little dairy in the Smart balance butter I am using nothing with dairy. Great results so far as the D is gone. The big problem now is that ...

Doing the Pepto. D isn't terrible, just the abdominal gas. Wish it would just go away. Taking 2 or more 180 Gas X daily. Sometimes it works other times no.

I have a good friend in So. Fla. that deals with a compounding pharmacy daily. He may be able to help if the HMO can't.

Hi All! I went back on the sulfasalazine that I had a scrip for since things flared back up this past weekend, but I called my GI Dr. to get prescribed the Entocort. The SS was making me feel worse than better. Well after dealing with nurse Kratchit who shouldn't even be in the medical profession sh...

Sheila,
Thanks for the information. We actually live in Marion County, but I will keep your suggestion in mind.

Yes, staying away from the raw fruits and veggies. I sure miss my salads! Any other suggestions regarding getting additional protein? Any supplements that you are aware of that would be safe? Thanks!

Thank you both for the advice. I tried to tell my GI Dr. and Cardiologist about the chest pain and they looked at me like I was crazy. Now I know it isn't just me. We went to the store today after doing additional research and are committed to sticking to the G and D free diet. Everyone here has bee...
