Hey Guys, Thanks for the messages - appreciated. Yes I do have a slight IgA and a slight IgG deficiency Tex... The immunologist discharged me and she wasn't sure what was going on but thought they may be leaking through the gut. The did more sophisiticated celiac tests which don't use IgA (deaminida...

Autoimmune Enteropathy
Hi guys, I haven't been on the site for ages! I've been waiting for ages to hear back from my GI regarding further ideas... of what may be wrong and the doctors keep changing so I have to keep going back to square one! I've been on budesonide for months (6mg) now and it keeps me 'ok' (I have small b...

Hi Gabes, I have just been reading up on mast cells. It's interesting as I have eczema, generally itchy skin etc and it seems to be worse when the gut is worse. I had been taking anti-histamines for ages but they don't seem to help either at all. Steroids so far are the shizzle! Until I figure out t...

Hi Tex and Gabes, Thank you for all the support, I really appreciate it as I would have no idea otherwise! It's interesting you mention the tryptase Tex. The immunologist ordered that as a blood test but I assume that doesn't probably show the same thing. She is really good so I think if I mentioned...

Hey Gabes, Thanks for your big email, much appreciated :) I have just been to see my lovely (new) GI today. They seem good and efficient with a plan but kind of downplayed my gastroscopy/colonoscopy results - which confused me, as I thought my previous GI regarded them as significant but wasn't sure...

Hey Thanks Aussie Mate :) I'll have a look at the magnesium thing, I have taken vitamin D in the past but must admit I've slacked off a bit in my vitamins. I'd been feeling so good on the budesonide. Will try be a good girl and stay on the pentasa till Wednesday till I see the GI ;) My GP is amazing...

Thanks everyone for the tips! Just been to see doc (not my usual one) and as it is weekend she won't do any further investigations. I can't actually walk properly my knee is so bad, had hip and ankle pain this morning but that's faded - feel like I am 85 not 35!! lol. She doesn't think my symptoms a...

Hey Tex Thanks for the speedy replies! Much appreciated. Yeah I think it may be a bit of both. Tempted to stop the Pentasa but will wait till next week, seeing GI. I don't think it's the Budesonide wean - but hard to know when you're taking 2 meds with similar potential side effects. I have had to t...

? Drug reaction to Pentasa/Budesonide
Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone has had issues with Pentasa causing joint pain? I have been on budesonide 7 weeks and started tapering last week so perhaps it's due to that too? Have pain in fingers and toes sometimes on awakening but mooderate pain in right knee which has now spread to the left. ...

Hi guys, I know prednisone can cause GI upset - reflux type symptoms. Has anyone struck this with budesonide? I had bad pain in my chest so my GP (family doctor) wasn't so sure but put me on ranitidine which seems to have worked (I was chugging antacid before this without relief). The pain was worse...

Hi guys Thanks for this group it's great to get some more information. I'm a bit over things at the moment but hopeful that I'm going to get somewhere soon. I am a bit of a mystery to my GI and immunologist. I was diagnosed coeliac post gastroscopy in Sept 2012 after years of diarrhoea. I had negati...
