To be honest, Tex, I've never even given the possibility of a clot any thought. Seems like everything about me is so liquid...how could a clot form??? You are correct; that was the source he mentioned. And, he said, given my mother's large cell artery issue, he thought it prudent. But, he said if I'...

Increase chance of blood clots in MC patients?

My new Dr. recently prescribed a daily baby aspirin for me due to my increased risk of developing blood clots because of my digestive disorders. I don't know if he was referring to the MC or the Celiac increasing the risk. Unfortunately, the baby aspirin is causing some upper GI bleeding, and I want...

Now I'm confused. Regarding the food allergies (I'm new to this area as of today -- spent all day at the allergist with my daughter!), I'm guessing that you had a seriously leaky gut when the celiac damage was present, thereby allowing more food proteins into your bloodstream and triggering these a...

Thanks for the replies. I'll see if I can clarify some points. Zizzle, I found EnteroLab through this site in 2008 after my MC diagnosis of 2006. I was having blood in my stool, throwing up every meal, and still my Gastro said to eat fiber. Tex suggested I look at Dr. Fine's site. So I did. Had gene...

So confused...

Hello everyone. I'm a little confused by some test results, and my Dr. is just unable to explain it to me. In 2006, I was diagnosed with MC. Then in 2008 I got the Celiac confirmation. The blood allergy test at that time showed wheat, yeast, shellfish, and safflower. Blood work showed low Vit D and ...

Katy,

I used to work in a diner....the cook would always put a scooper full of pancake batter into the omelet to make it puff up....I believe I was told at IHOP that they do the same.

Could be the source of issue for you.

Wayne, stop beating yourself up over the cheesecake. From what I've experienced, guilt just brings your whole attitude down, and it doesn't change anything! Going GF isn't easy! Google some gluten free blogs and you'll see how everyone struggles to give up their favorite food. Be kinder to yo...

That works for me! Today I had 2 pancakes (Pamela's), with some real maple syrup, and a large decaf coffee I had gotten on the way home from the barn. I ate about 10am....

Now it's 5pm and I'm finally hungry. Tomorrow it's grits and eggs...

Supplements

Some well-meaning frienda have suggested that I take a few supplements. I'd like to gather your collective experience. Here's what else I "should" be taking, according to my friends: Vitamin B complex Papaya pills to settle the stomach Zypan 8500, which is a hydrochloric acid supplement th...

Trace Blood Test

Still shows Negative for Celiac....and at the time only on GF diet for 10 days or so. My rheumatologist is convinced the test is ridiculous. She told me, "Look..you have the genes for celiac, you have 99% of the symptoms, you have the rash....YOU HAVE CELIAC!!!! Don't let this test give you fal...
