hard lesson to learn

In December I had a sandwich after my heart catheritization, because that is what they had to eat and I was hungry. I was amazed when I didn't have a negative reaction. Then when I was in the hospital for heart surgery the gluten free diet they sent me was horrible. I just ate from the regular menu ...

What an adventure!

Everybody is so upbeat on the list, I feel rather guilty for being discouraged. It seems like there just isn't enough time or energy to take all of the factors into account. My daughter suggested tyrosine to help with energy. It is true that I haven't been very conscientious about supplements lately...

What an adventure!

I tried to go gluten-free about 15 years ago and gave up after a few weeks. I didn't have enough information and the foods in the store sold as gluten-free were disgusting. I have stocked up on all of those alternative flours and other ingredients, but now I have to find the energy to make them. Thr...

buying ingredients for gluten free recipies?

I chose a few recipes from my new Braille gluten free cookbook to try. I have a volunteer who does my shopping with a list I email her. I couldn't believe how expensive everything was. A man came up to her in the store and said there is a web site where you can buy all of the flours and other ingred...

thanks

I am still trying to work out the logistics of this site using my screen reader. Does the response go to everybody or to the people that responded to my post? I will probably try the mayo this weekend, thanks. I figured 2 months would probably be a good trial period. I have had symptoms for about 2 ...

THANKS!

Two days down, and Iamb doing okay. Tonight I am making potato salad for a picnic. I made this commitment a month ago, so I am doing it. It is really hard not to taste it, but I haven't done it. I am staying focused on how I almost immediately feel sick after eating mayo. I am hoping to find a recip...

tomorrow is the day!

Tomorrow, June 13 is the day I eliminate gluten and soy from my diet. Since I am blind and can't read labels, a friend and I made a trip to the grocery store just to read labels. I took notes in Braille. Then I went home and made my grocery list accordingly. I ordered a gluten free cookbook in Brail...

Weaning off ppi

Thanks, Where do you buy magnesium spray or soak? I wonder how a pro-biotic that is supposed to aid in digestion can cause trouble for us? Seems like we need to be scientists or doctors to know how to help ourselves. Bernice

weaning off of PPI

humira. Before I started taking humira I had to lean on furniture to move around my house. Blind people aren't very good with crutches. I'll consider the glucosamine again. I take 50,000 d3 once a week which keeps my blood level at a good amount. I have added another pillow, and I keep the zantack o...

Already take magnesium and D3. Thanks for diet advice. Edit field seems very small. I take humira for ankylosingspondolitis which the endocort helped also. I have eliminated chocolate, mint, and tomato trying to control gird. I tried giving up coffee, but frankly, I couldn't function without some in...

weaning off of PPI

Hi, I am moving along this journey. I have been off of the PPI for about 10 days. Trying to manage with zantack. I am wondering how long it might take to have the les function properly? What I've noticed is less urgent diarrhea, which is a good thing of course. The other thing I have noticed is that...
