Re: Lower back pain

I get lower back pain too when I am bloated…and whenever I experience symptoms, my anxiety gets worse.

Re: MC Foundation

When I was diagnosed 8 years ago, I was so sick that I was wondering if I was dying. Finding this forum was the best thing that could have happened to me. I am so grateful to all of you for saving me, for all the advice and support over the years, allowing me to regain quality of life! It hasn’t bee...

Re: Salmon and other fish

Hi Tricia, I used to eat meat and seafood. But my husband has had long covid now for nearly three years. After reading a book he came to the conclusion that he was going to avoid meat because he thinks it’s bad for his lungs. So now we eat seafood just about every day. I do fine with it, but only if...

Re: eating with others

Hi Marcia, My daughters are all strictly GF, mostly DF and EF, and one is also strictly SF. They usually put tomato sauce on their pizza and sometimes even some kind of an artificial cheese. I know I would not do well with that artificial cheese (way too many weird ingredients) and I also strictly d...

Re: eating with others

Hi Marcia, Yes, I use the basic gluten-free flour mix in the front of the book (brown rice flour, potato starch, and tapioca flour). I knew I was okay eating rice and potatoes, so the only thing I had to try was tapioca. This flour mix is used for most of the recipes. There is another flour mix in t...

Re: eating with others

Hi Sonja,

Good point!

One can of (unsweetened) coconut milk corresponds to 400 ml. One bag of frozen mango pieces weighs 340 g.
I honestly do not think it matters very much if it is a bit less or a bit more.

Enjoy!

Patricia, originally from Switzerland

Re: eating with others

Thanks, Brandy. I am afraid of trying egg whites. I have not had any since 2014 and don't want to rock the boat (it gets rocked easily!). As for the coffee cake (Blueberry Boy Bait, link above): I have made it with rhubarb or with apples from our garden, it was delicious. I think you could really us...

Re: eating with others

Dear Sonja, My husband and I eat together and we are eating the same things. He and I are taking turns cooking. He loves spicy food and I obviously can't have spicy foods anymore. So we use fresh or dried herbs that I tolerate and he will add anything spicy to his food afterwards. Maybe once a month...

Re: Covid vaccine

Thank you so much, Kari! I am glad that you had no problems with the second shot. The article you posted is very interesting. Also the fact that you had the same symptoms after the 1st shot as you had in December 2019. You are definitely well protected now! I am curious what the PCP and the allergy ...

Re: Covid vaccine

Hi Kari, What was your reaction? I believe I had an allergic reaction to the Moderna vaccine. I have allergic reactions to bumblebee stings, Amoxicillin, Zithromax, Biaxin, Bactrim as well as carrots, celery, peanuts (these foods provoke swelling of lips, itchy throat, trouble breathing). I went to ...

Re: Covid vaccine

Hi Brandy, I just received a call that I can get the COVID vaccine tomorrow, it will be the Moderna one. Originally, I was going to take Benadryl but I decided against it after reading this on the CDC website: Administration of antihistamines to COVID-19 vaccine recipients prior to vaccination to pr...

Re: Covid vaccine

Hi everyone, Sorry I have been absent for a long time. It is SOOO nice seeing the names and reading what everyone wrote. My oldest daughter (23 years old) who also has MC and my husband received the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. My daughter was slightly tired yesterday and had a sore arm, no other sympt...

I am so so sorry, Jean. These are such sad times. The fact that it is currently not possible to be with dying loved ones or to be grieving together with family members and friends and hugging each other when losing a loved one makes it even worse.

My heart goes out to you,

Love,

Patricia
