Congratulations Tex! It must feel great as an author- AND as a patient too, that you, a person with a tested relationship with the medical community, know that you and your Dr. on on the same 278 pages... must be very comforting. I took your book with me to my last Dr. appt. Of course she couldn't r...

I'm just going to add some more info- I recently purchased canned coconut milk for the first time so I could try it in homemade ice cream. I found 3 different brands at a super Kroger- in 3 different places in the store and all different prices too. I tried 2. The Native Forest organic brand was abo...

General Mills Vanilla Rice Chex

I've gotten this alarmist warning a few times in my FB news feed- if you google it there are a few articles about it with basically the same conclusion (to me, the conclusion seems to be pointing to the obvious but unproven, unverified) I feel very disheartened about any type of big bright labelling...

Hey Jeff- It's so annoying when you can't get an appointment when you are really in a bad way. Two months ago I would have told you that gluten was not my problem. Well- that's easy to trick yourself to believe when you see salad greens in the toilet- but not Ritz crackers. Now that I've been avoidi...

Welcome Noelene- I am so glad you found your way here and hopefully you will find some ideas and inspiration for something that will help your situation through the posts and experiences of others here. I was convinced that I was fine eating anything and that my problem was not food related- but aft...

Wow! The mychart worked great! I got the e mail and here are the results. The time from when the blood was drawn to when the results came back was ten minutes less than a full 24 hours- and apparently the lab was in another state! So- the blood testing for food allergy shows nothing at all. Hmmm. No...

Followup visit with GI Doc

Yesterday I had a followup visit with my GI doctor. She seemed genuinely happy to hear about the improvements I've had through diet changes. I came with a bunch of literature to show her- Tex's book, the histamine food chart and the menu of tests available through Enterolab. She looked through the b...

Hey Chelle- I just wanted to add my personal experience in regards to your how long question (of course everyone's experience is different) I had to take a drug free/diet only approach because I had a bad reaction to Budesonide. I started a very strict elimination diet in mid-november and just in th...

Lilja- The swallowing problems sounds like GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease) I had some trouble with this over the summer and had a feeling of a lump in my throat- like if you swallow a pill and it does not go down right. The feeling did not go away for many days even if I drank or ate. When I ...

Hi Sonja- I am also new to the forum and fairly new to the diagnosis of CC (just since November) but I have been pretty sick with it for many years. I don't have answers to many of your questions, but I am looking forward to read what others say in reply to you. I am also planning to do the Enterola...

Thanks for that list Deb ! It's good to know. I hope I can do the enterolab testing soon and open my restricted diet a little. Right now I'm worried that chicken may be a problem - I am just choking on turkey. I wish I could try some lamb.

This was my first time seeing an allergy menu. My first time eating out since the restrictions. I was already very nervous just to be out, and I wasn't quite sure how to talk about things with the waiter. I told him I have some medical issues with my diet and wanted to know if the steak was marinate...
