I've got to see a hand specialist to get some sort of brace and some sort of exercises. If, after 4-6 weeks and no noticeable improvement I'll need surgery to move the nerve.

BearcatRx I just came across this article looking at neuromuscular disorders, one of which was mononeuropathy multiplex, as a presenting feature of celiac. http://jnnp.bmj.com/content/63/6/770.full They stated: "Neurological symptoms antedated the diagnosis of celiac disease in all, and most h...

:iagree: I forgot about the diet abandonment. Yes, forced/induced tolerance of gluten, casein, etc. does not stop the antibody production. Antibodies will continue to be produced and they are bound to have some sort of consequence. In my case for example, I can tolerate casein without any digestive...

My levels were always within normal limits, although I haven't had it checked since I began colestipol. My dosage is below that recommended for cholesterol reduction but it is probably enough to cause a shift.

I have had a EMG done on both arms from the shoulder to fingers. Test showed mild carpal tunnel in the left wrist but nothing else to speak of. The doctor doing the test said my symptoms were similar to mononeuritis multiplex. I don't really feel like I've got any sort of neuropathy, I just have a v...

Arthritis and mononeuritis multiplex

Well, after being on colestipol for nearly five months and all of my GI issues have resolved, the arthritis pain has set in. It's mostly in my right finger joints and mildly in my left hand as well. I've also had some ulnar nerve issues. I had a EMG done which showed mild carpal tunnel in my left wr...

Terre,

I'm a pharmacist and I take "expired" medications. I even have about 270 entocort under my sink that may eventually get used. Seems an awful waste of money to just throw it away.... an awful waste of about $3000 worth.

The law states that the expiration date be one year from dispensing date. This does not mean that is the actual drug expiration. The only true way to know this is to look at the exact stock bottle it came from. Most times, it's several years. In any case, just because a drug has gone past its "...

You've got your HDL and LDL values reversed. I've never seen someone with a significantly higher HDL than LDL. Too high of HDL can actually be bad.

The fact that I improved almost immediately once taking the Colestipol leads me to believe that my MC was most likely caused by bile acid malabsorption. the other plausible theory Bearcat is biotoxins/parasites/bacteria. Colestipol/colestrymine is showing great success in treating people for these ...

That certainly sounds like a plausible explanation. If only we could figure out why you had BAM. I'm assuming that your gallbladder is still intact. Tex It is indeed still intact, as far as I know! It's too bad there really aren't any tests that can detect BAM as far as I'm aware of. I do experienc...

I will most likely still have to cut the gluten out eventually. The fact that I improved almost immediately once taking the Colestipol leads me to believe that my MC was most likely caused by bile acid malabsorption.

I have been on Colestipol, 1 gram BID and one lomotil daily. For me, it's been a game-changer. I am able to eat essentially anything I want, including all of the things on my list. To be honest, I just decided to say "F*** it" and try. I've been able to eat gluten, dairy, eggs, everything ...

Bearcat, What is the price difference between colestipol and cholestryamine powder, my insurance does not cover my prescription because of a high deductible, so I pay out of pocket. Also, I have been on Sandoz cholestryamine since last July, it is the only medication that gave me normal bowel movem...
