I’ve thought about low dose Budesonide and may resort to that if stopping the hrt doesn’t work. Budesonide works great for me so that would probably be a good option. Thanks.

Yes, I was diagnosed in 2014 and haven’t touched it since. Wish it was that easy.

I’m so hoping this brings me relief. I have been so confused and frustrated about not being able to get into remission despite my very clean diet and lifestyle. I’m one of the unfortunate ones who tolerates a food one time and the next time it goes right thru so have never been able to identify food...

Oh my goodness, I should have researched the archives. Thank you so much for confirming my decision to stop the hormones. And thanks for always having our backs!

Post Menopausal Hormone linked to MC

I’ve just read an interesting article citing a study that linked Microscopic Colitis to the use of hormone replacement therapy in post-menopausal women. I don’t want to make any rash decisions to stop taking hormones but was wondering if anyone else got diagnosed after beginning hormones? Here is th...

Please don’t let it go on too long. I ended up in the hospital with a severe kidney infection because I tried to self treat a UTI at home. I’ll never do that again!

That's encouraging. I already take B6 but would be interested in your dosage recommendation (or experience). I know I have at least one genetic snp that predisposes me to mast cell degranulation so I'm hoping this is a step in the tight direction.

Is Zyrtec a miracle drug?

I've suspected for a while that mast cell issues were at least part of my problem so I began experimenting with Zyrtec a week ago. I am amazed at the improvements! I've gone from numerable episodes of WD day and night to just one in the morning (just before taking the Zyrtec). I have even tried bits...

Question re: reaction time

I've recently weaned off Budesonide and am trying to determine what foods I'm reacting to by using a food diary. The big question is how long does it take to react to a no-no food? I'm sure everyone is different but are we talking minutes to an hour, several hours or the next day? I've had two great...

AIP modifications

Hey fellow MC'ers. It's been a while since I've posted because I've been relatively stable. After a Lyme's diagnosis, I began a herbal protocol and it has sent me into a major flare. I've stopped the herbs and gone back on budesonide but want to begin the AIP diet and wonder if anyone has done it wi...

Lyme's treatment

I know there are some studies relating Lyme's and MC. I'm one of the unfortunate ones who have both. Since I had Lymes several years before being diagnosed antibiotics would not be very effective. Instead I've chosen the Buhner protocol which involves several herbs. After being in MC remission for o...

Newbie with Rx question

I'm a little embarrassed to be posting since the severity of my MC (collagenous) is much less than many on this board but I'm at a loss as to what to do. After experiencing persistent D for 9 mths (several Times per day) I finally found a gastro doc that knew about MC and performed a colonoscopy wit...
