conflicting advice

GI wants me to use Citrucel daily, take Uceris and PPI -but does not think food is an issue. auto-immune doc is suggesting eliminating grain, dairy, night shade vegetables, and soy, and using supplements rather than pharmaceuticals. Also had me do a blood test to see if food sensitivities are an iss...

Oh my word, this is a vicious cycle - the meds make the MC worse, right now all food causes the D, if I take magnesium to help Vit D that means continued WD, then lower Vit D and B. If I take the bile salts for lack of gallbladder that can cause WD. Doctors can't help and all the info on this site i...

Thanks Tex - I do sleep with a side pillow but will try to sleep on my back going forward. I read a comment you made recently that anti acid drugs can make the MC worse. Do you believe this and why? I want' to be able to discuss it with my GI in an intelligent manner.

Is it wise to take anti-acid medication with MC?

I have collagenous colitis, gastroparesis and erosive gastropathy. My gallbladder was removed last week due to multiple gallstones and he found a hernia while in there! Surgery was delayed by 24 hours due to very low potassium, sodium; vitamin d and b12 are also very low. Even though I explained to ...

Thank you all. Tex, unfortunately I have had chronic, watery D for a year now - so even if it continues I will assume it is more the colitis, gastropathy and gastroparesis. There are a few polyps but there are also stones. If I understood him correctly, it is the stones that are problematic simply b...

Surgeon confirmed gall bladder has to come out. He gave me the option, but detailed what could occur if it doesn't. He said it may help with the nausea, probably won't correct the other issues but may help make them more manageable. He also said - "we don't know enough about auto immune disorde...

My labs also show very low Vitamin D and low B12. I am currently taking 50K of D once a week to raise the level. I am incredibly tired, body aches and foggy brained at times. I thought the Ibuprofen was masking the aches and once I quit they were evident. Also thought the fatigue was due to the exce...

Thank you, Tex. Fatty Liver results did not indicate what type - we do drink red wine - it would stink if that also has to go out the window. All the tests for celiac came back negative - she did a biopsy in addition to the blood test. The fiber she recommended is a powder mixed with water - but to ...

Five diagnosis - a bit overwhelmed

I now have four diagnosis all affecting my digestive system. Erosive gastropathy, collagenous colitis, gall stones, fatty liver and delayed stomach emptying. Are they all related? My GI advises consulting with a surgeon for a gallbladder consultation, 6 small meals a day consisting of soft foods (no...
