Thank you, Gabes -- The bone broth idea sounds great (and delicious) -- I'm going to break out the crockpot tonight. I know patience is needed here; it seems to be one long trial and error saga. Symptoms seem to flare and then go into remission, then flare again. Yikes -- just read Lesley's post on ...

MCTD - LDN?

Hi, Chris, Your diagnosis sounds very similar to mine -- MCTD, LC and more. My LC had been in control up until last week, and has now come roaring back with a vengeance. I do notice that whenever I have a flare, I experience concurrent symptoms that are also scleroderma-ish, including dry cracked fi...

Am def. going to look more carefully at labels! Learning just how sensitive this LC can be. Heading back to the drugstore.

Magnesium questions

Hi, Forum Folks, Anybody have any suggestions on how to to prevent leg cramping? I stopped taking magnesium supplements after my recent LC diagnosis, and now I wake up every night with cramping foot and leg pain. I tried a Magnesium cream last week, but had a crazy hormonal reaction -- felt like PMS...

Following my MCTD diagnosis, I've experienced flashers, an ocular migraine, an enlarged optic nerve and, most recently, a detached retina. Ophthalmologist has no answers, sees no connection between eye issues and AI disease (note to self: find new eye doc). Just found a Magnesium cream at Whole Food...

Stephred, I have LC and psoriatic arthritis. (And I do not have redness or swelling with my usual joint pain, either, so that's not the final criteria for a diagnosis.) I've been on the GF/DF diet for LC for just ten days, and the improvement in my finger and elbow joints is the most noticeable bene...

Tex, Thank you for the information on LDN. I just learned of it from reading posts on this forum, and there's a doctor here in Los Angeles who seems knowledgable. Will definitely explore this option if things don't change down the road. Yes, makes me happy to know there's a possible back-up plan sho...

Thanks once again, Tex, for the info on PPIs. I've been taking Pantoprazole daily, as prescribed by my GI. Am discontinuing immediately! My rheumy prescribed Meloxicam, an NSAID, knowing I had colitis, and I discontinued that as well. Am now thoroughly wary of all meds.

Thanks for your welcome, Jari. Yes, this forum is an amazing resource, more valuable than my doctors at this point. Glad you jumped on the GF diet shortly after diagnosis. I had CC for several years and managed okay with Asacol, which completely controlled the D although I was still exhausted most o...

Yes, I am seeing the most immediate gluten-free benefits in the areas of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis -- the joints in my hands have really improved. I really gut healing will take longer, but will def. stick with it.

Tex and Marcia, Thanks for your warm welcomes. I know I will learn much from fellow members on this site. And yes, Tex, psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis have already improved with gluten free regimen, particularly the joints in my hands and wrists. Have dabbled in gluten free eating before, but nev...

Hi, I'm new to this forum and so glad to have found it! Diagnosed with LC last month (was told it was CC per biopsy in 2011). Currently battling a two-month flare and C. Diff infection. Just finished course of Flagyl and now focusing on diet, eliminating gluten and dairy to start. Taking Asacol and ...
