Sometimes it's the little things

I have jumped on the GF wagon and continue to struggle with the loss of so many of my favorite foods. I was mentioning to my husband that at least my favorite candy, Haribo Gold-Bears, are a safe treat (yes, I know sugar is inflammatory but I won't deny myself an occassional treat). Well, I was wron...

Personally, I greatly dislike the person on the toilet and the "potty people" designation. I'm a newcomer and have less invested in this site than many of you but can give a possibly convoluted rationale for my dislike of the logo. I'm an oncology nurse and I liken the "potty" sy...

Thank you Erica! Her therapist told me today that she's heard there is a good ED support network at her school and I've talked with my daughter about the necessity of becoming a part of that network. I'm not much of a helicopter parent when she's not under my roof and I've already relinquished most ...

Thank you Tex... your 2 cents worth is helpful! I need reality checks from people who are knowledgeable and can help me keep things in perspective. I struggle a lot with putting my needs first... such a surprise *sarcasm*

Additional hurdles - need to vent

Ugh...as if dealing with MC wasn't enough! My 18 year old daughter was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa/orthorexia going on 3 years ago. Prior to that I had decided to adjust our diets to mostly gluten free and mostly eliminated white potatoes/rice etc. After several years of high stress and gaining ...

Well, better luck with my PCP. She is going to go online and try to order the Enterolabs panels I want. And she knows the owner of the compounding pharmacy I've contacted and is going to talk to her about LDN dosing and use and will prescribe it if she doesn't find anything contradictory with it. Sh...

Thanks for the input! I do have an incredible PCP who is very open to more alternative treatments...that's why I still go to her even after moving almost an hour away from her practice. As for the LDN, I did find the name of a GI who does prescribe it who's not much further away than my PCP...I'll p...

Frustrated with GI...no Enterolabs/no LDN

So I saw my GI for the first time in a couple of years due to my recent flare. I gave her printed info from Enterolabs because I want to get tested for food sensitivities and my understanding is that insurance is more likely to reimburse if ordered by an MD...she said she'd give the info to her nurs...

Enterolab test ordering

I see my GI tomorrow and my PCP Thursday. From what I'm reading on the Enterolab website it's more likely that my insurance will cover the testing if ordered through my MD vs me ordering the tests on my own. My question is, how does my MD go about doing the actual ordering?

I second the suggestion of "bulletproof" coffee...it really does make it taste like there's cream in your coffee. I've made it in the blender before but plan on trying a milk frother to make it less of a hassle.

I registered two days ago and got my kit in the mail today. Being a nurse in a teaching hospital and understanding the importance of research I'm more than happy to take part in a study that could help with understanding IBD.

New here and have a diet quandary

I was diagnosed with MC a couple of years ago and have had many ups and downs...no surprise there! I've done diet modifications of varying degrees since then but only strict adherence for short periods of time. Long story short, I recently had a medication change that threw me into a huge flare (Zol...
