Wow, this sure would be a step backwards. Since IBS is the lack of a diagnosis, rather an “undiagnosed” problem, I can see many people suffering needlessly from this if healthcare practitioners think IBS is a diagnosis. I have spent way too many years in the “IBS waste basket” because so many health...

Despite diet changes and medications symptoms continue
So, it has been over a year since my latest flare began. I have been on a gluten free, low fiber, low sugar, low fat, low fun diet for this year, and have been gluten free for about 15 years. Name a drug and I have been on it, except for Viberzi. This past year I have had three courses of budesonide...

Ultram and diarrhea
I have been struggling to find answers to my issues since a flare up last July that hasn’t ended, yet. I have been journaling for my new GI. I restricted my diet to the point it was pretty obvious it really wasn’t my diet. My GI had me stop taking Nexium after the biopsy confirmation of LC and CC. I...

I’m back😩. So, pepto nixed, Nexium nixed, diarrhea and pain in belly and back severe, and stomach a mess. I waffle between stomach pain and nausea. I have a call into my GI, but it usually takes awhile for a return call. I couldn’t get an appointment for two months and have a couple more weeks to go...

Another update. GI thinks Pepto set off a Gastritis, if not an ulcer. I have had about half a dozen peptic or duodenal ulcers in my lifetime. Started on Zantac 300mg/day, in divided dose. Today I feel quite a bit better, yay!! On the poop side, I was a bit sluggish while this was going on, but now m...

Thanks for validating my thinking😬. 40 years of modifying, adapting, and changing my diet to keep from spending my life in pain and in the bathroom. One day, I hope I live long enough they will figure this out. But, as you mentioned, what one can eat often changes. One’s diet is so individualized, t...

At the height of this most recent flare of MC, after visiting this forum and reading the Microscopic Colitis book, which read like my diary, I did try Vit D and Magnesium. My stomach was also a mess as I was weaning off Nexium. I decided to eliminate rather than add at that point. I think I will wai...

I thought I weaned myself off the Cymbalta slowly over two weeks, then when the random nausea and vomiting started,i had similar symptoms when I tried Cymbalta a few years ago and abruptly stopped taking it, so I expected the symptoms. I also had excessive sweating with the Cymbalta that has signifi...

Now Pepto Bismol
So, within a week of dropping to one Entocort/day, I returned to watery diarrhea and pain. Called Gastro and was given several choices, more Entocort, or Pepto Bismol, and or Cholesteramine. I chose the Pepto. Wrong. I have just regular old diarrhea 4-5 times/day, which is tolerable, but my stomach!...

Almost done with my month on 9mg Entocort. I have had more good days than bad. But, I am not back to a full diet and am testing foods. Sometimes with success, sometimes not. Yesterday I cut my hand and required sutures and an antibiotic. What effect, in people's experiences do antibiotics have on co...
