High volume D
Tex. I have always wondered about that very high volume of the D. Really. Sometimes there is SO much that it’s astounding. Oddly, sometimes there is such high volume, even when I didn’t eat much. And often, there was a high volume of very soft ‘poo’ when not the watery D; I mean PILES ( sorry; where...

SufferingLC: You really have had an awful lot of stress. You are most certainly passing through some extremely difficult things. I wish you comfort, and that you find some peace in the midst of all of these trials. I wish you courage, strength, and healing. https://i.postimg.cc/n9r9vdsr/69-D93841-B0...

Hi tommyboywalker. Thank you for you response. I have chosen not to go the steroid route, even the Budesonide, because I am a high risk for osteoporosis. Enterolab is expensive, but I am thinking of starting the elimination diet to try to find my food sensitivities. I do already know many that give ...

Hi jnmast. I will chime in here. I’m in Canada. CBD in multiple forms ( oil, vaping, edibles, etc) are widely available. I tried it myself in the form of CBD in a Maple syrup tincture that you put under the tongue in drops. It certainly does seem to have a reasonably good effect for ‘calming’ an act...

Well, for anyone interested in my colonoscopy results: a normal colon with only a few “ minor” internal hemorrhoids. That usual scenario for Collagenous Colitis. She did take biopsies though regarding the collagen layer in CC, for analysis. So. 17 years with CC. Regular flares with intermittent peri...

Tex. You sure know your stuff! Would you recommend to request a scope of the small intestine, not just a colonoscopy? But then, the options on offers for treatment from the gastroenterologist are usually the same aren’t they: steroids? What do you think? Tex. Would you recommend a course of one of t...

Me again. Sorry. I just thought of something though. If this disease is concentrated in the large colon, than most nutrients should have already been absorbed before reaching that area of the intestines. However electrolytes are not being absorbed back into the body as the thicker collagen band prev...

And I too have thinning hair. :( I looked up all of the usual meds for CC and they all can cause hair loss. Even Pepto. Definitely the steroids. The only one that seemed not to was perhaps Mesalamine. In an interesting study with Mesalamine it appeared to protect against hair loss. Interesting. I to...

I thought I would chime in on this. I recently read several journal articles that say inflammatory bowel disease can cause hair loss. It most likely is a result of the loss of important nutrients. Hair loss is particularly prevalent in those IBD that cause bleeding ( like UC) and therefore iron loss...

Occult blood ?
Tex. Is it possible that I have had occult blood in my stool frequently over these years of having CC, but, of course, just never see it, as it is only visible if tested? This stool test has me shaken. I have nice remissions and often a relatively ‘mild’ course of this disease, but regular bouts of ...

Blood in fecal test
Hello. I believe the title of my post relays my concern. I am hoping to have some input from some of you. Of course I am scheduled for a colonoscopy for in a week’s time. I am distressed of course. Here’s the thing though. Everyone keeps telling the tale that MC never has blood in the stool, and inf...
