Colon Polyps

Tex, I finally had the appointment with someone at the Oncology Clinic. She did not think that the UVB light could have been the cause. I also asked that of the Dermatology Clinic where I get my treatments. They don't seem to think so either. They didn't see how that UVB could affect the Colon. But ...

Gastro

Wow, Tex Thank you so much. I’ve tried for hours to get some information at my dermatology clinic and I can’t even get in to see the doctor regarding a sore lesion that needs attention. That is in addition to this matter and now you have so promptly responded. That connection of the six year period ...

Fiber and UVB light

I have an appointment coming up at the Oncology clinic with someone regarding my DNA. They are puzzled about my 20 polyps in the last colonoscopy. Today I was thinking that I started the UVB treatments six years ago and my previous colonoscopy was six years ago. Could there be a connection. The trea...

Colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy in Dec 2017 because my previous ones found polyps. Secondary would not pay because I am over 75 and they saw no need for me to have it even though they found 20 polyps this time! Does that sound reaonable? Are insurance companies backing off on what they cover?

I seem to be doing fairly good right now. At least a lot better. Most of the pills I take are supplements. It seems that when you have a lot of medical problems it gets rather complicated. I had a cardiologist tell me that she wasnt interested in talking about anything other than my heart. Come on n...

Thank you so much Tex. I have to wonder why doctors aren't more involved with advising us to use things like magnesium rather than drugs for everything. Of course, I think I know why!! I was not aware of the need for magnesium and why do they come up with magnesium oxide rather than magnesium glycin...

Tex, this really is a mystery to me. I have just looked up about cause and treatment for polyps. One article says that a multivitamin containing 400 IU of Vit D was associated with reducing polyp risk aby about 25%. It also suggested getting 645 IU of D plus aspirin plus 4 grams of cereal fiber a da...

Tex, Thanks so much for your response. I do know now that Oxide was the wrong type. Wish I had know that before but I believe I am on the right track now. I still don't know why I did get 20 polyps when the previous time I only had 1 small one. But something changed in the last 6 years or is that ju...

Tex and Gabes, Thank you for responding. I have taken Vit D3 for a long time and at present I am taking 7000 IU daily. I also take Magnesium but recently started taking Magnesium Glycinate 400 mg daily. I also dropped taking the Shaklee OsteoMatrix tabs. That also contained 600 IU of D3 and 400 mg o...

Fiber

I just recently had a colonoscopy and found out I had 20 polyps in my colon. 14 of them were precancerous. That was really upsetting. I wondered if avoiding fiber has caused the problem. I first wondered if my UVB treatments could be a problem as I have taken them biweekly for 6 years. My first colo...

Thank you and I hope I am on my way. I think I have made peace with the statins. I just discovered a bottle I bought at my health foods store. Cholesterol Complex. I used the one bottle but no more. Listed on there is calcium 40mg along with Corowise plant sterols 950mg. Guess I'll have to get out t...

My Dad had Mild heart attack and later on, he had a stroke and while in therapy he had a cardiac arrest. He was 73. My mother had a massive stroke and died. She was 59. A lot of my relatives died of strokes. My husband also had 2 strokes at the end but I don't think he had high blood pressure and no...
