thank you
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I feel a little better about trying them now and I am hopeful that it won't take long to get this under control. I almost feel like the cucumber bbq'd my throat and now everything is causing a problem. I was so happy for the past year to finally not have to d...

Question about Zantac
I went to see the gastro doctor today because I have started to have excessive acid reflux. I went over a year without it and then I ate a cucumber a couple of weeks ago and all of a sudden everything that I eat causes reflux and heartburn. The doctor told me that he would prescribe Zantac and that ...

Thank you both for your information. I did start eating a little more cheese and chocolate, thinking that things were looking up. Perhaps the one pill a day was masking the issue. Beef actually causes constipation with me, so I don't eat a lot of that. I am happy that I can look back a year ago and ...

excessive gas
I have finally dropped down to one pill every other day and things appear to be going okay. Thank heavens, as it has been one year. However, I have excessive bouts of gas in my intestines. Usually it doesn't create issues with my stomach, again thank heavens. However, it can be rather embarrasing. D...

entocort ?
Can someone explain to me why entocort (budesine sp.) comes in different colored pills. I am taking 3mg capsules but the pharmacy keeps wanting to give me different colored capsules. They say they are by the same manufacture and are still 3mg, so should work the same? Thanks for any info. Vivian

Hi Sarah; I have had at least 8 visits to the hospital for low potassium. Most of the time I was aware of it because of heart palpations. I also have eye issues, vomiting and just feeling like I can't move. When those happen it is because my potassium is either 3 or less. The other night I had my po...

Thanks Erica, I also have to take between 10 and 20 mls of potassium a day, but sometimes that apparently isn't enough. I agree that not being able to eat a balanced diet is probably an issue. Good luck. Also good luck Tex. I also battle a low GFR. When all of my blood tests finally got into the nor...

Thanks for the message
I sure hope that you are okay. The E-R is not a fun place to be. Thanks for the suggestions. I am iron deficient and yes I have trouble taking supplements. I have been under a doctor's care for my kidneys for the past two years and at the last reading they were still doing okay with a GFR of above 6...

feeling tired and run down
Hope everyone is doing okay. I have been able to reduce my meds to 6mg per day and have not had any D for quite awhile. I've even been able to add squash and a few peas to my food group. However, I have been in the hospital twice in July for low potassium. Again the other day my potassium had droppe...

Spent July 4th in the hospital
I haven't been having any wd since starting on the steroids. I have been drinking about 3 quarts of water every day and taking liquid potassium every other day. I have also been taking a mag. pill every day. However, I apparently got extremely dehydrated and I ignored signs of low potassium. I guess...

Hi Tex, I take the pills at night because when I first started I was so afraid to take them, that I figured if I took them at night I would go to sleep and not know if there were any side effects. My doctor told me it didn't matter when I took them, so I have just continued to take them at night. I ...

Horrid chest gas
Does anyone else have to deal with gas symptoms in their chest that are so bad that you feel like your chest is going to fly apart? I used to have this occassionally when I had a gall bladder, but that has been removed. This has just started again recently. Could it be because of the budesindite (sp...

Thank you
Thanks for the links to other posts. It is truly interesting that so many other places in the body can be affected. It is reassuring that other people have also felt IC and associated it with MC, I hadn't had IC for years and have given up all items that have Vit. C in them so as not to have it come...

bladder infection
I was recently taken off Uceris and put on generic budesidite (sp). The Uceris flyer indicates that most of the medicine doesn't go thru the bladder. However, that apparently isn't the case with the generic version. I am having symtoms of a bladder infection, but I don't actually have one. At one ti...
