I like that reversible joint idea! Next time I'm down at the UW Med Ctr, I'll check in orthopaedic research & see if they can't come up with that for us - in the near future of course. I have two pair of shoes that I can get into. My foot swells during the day and my shoe is pretty snug by the t...

The knee is doing great! I knew what I was getting into - had the other one done in 2007. I'm really glad people only have 2 of them!! It's still a little swollen & warm, but nothing I can't deal with. It gets stiff sitting in the same position too long, but I can always go for a walk at work - ...

I think I was tested for HLA-B27 and there wasn't a problem. I'll check on that again. I've only gotten reactive arthritis when I stop the asacol. I never had it before I developed diarrhea (11/02) and was put on Asacol... I've been tested for a variety of bacteria, C. difficile, and a few others - ...

Reactive Arthritis

I had a knee replacement in August. I was taken off Asacol because of it's blood thinning properties. I was on injectable blood thinners. As a result, I developed Reactive Arthritis in my foot. It's hard enough trying to walk again with a knee replacement, but adding the reactive arthritis makes wal...

NO, oil, dairy, raw fruit free

Does anyone have a salad dressing that does not contain oils, dairy, or raw tree fruit? My garden is doing well, but my gut isn't. The thoughts of dry lettuce just doesn't cut it! Any suggestions are appreciated!! If possible, please send recipe(s) to blwinnercoates@gmail.com I'll see it faster than...

Thanks for the reply/support! Nice to know I'm normally abnormal. Your location says, Amman. Would that be Amman, Jordan? If so, have you been to Petra? Someday, I'll get there!

Well, bah hum-bug! I only took it for 2 months last summer. I really was looking forward to being able to eat. Last summer, I even drank a latte with coffee ice cream in it and it didn't bother me. This time, even a small amount of peanut butter wasn't pleasant. Oh well, Pentasa works pretty well - ...

Endocort worked first time, not second time. Is this normal?

Hi y'all, I took Endocort last August & thought it was wonderful. I took it for 2 months and went back to Pentasa for basic maintenance. I thought I'd try it again for travel in April. I took it for April & May and it did not work. As a matter of fact, my 'reactive' arthritis in my ankles re...

Now that I'm going to be staying in one place for a few days on this vacation, I tried my old nemisis; 1 tbs of olive oil - that did the trick. Of course, now I have to stay near the bathroom for several hours. Dairy- blue cheese salad dressing, salmon, halibut, & fried foods didn't bother me, b...

Can this steroid cause constipation? I've taken it for several weeks with no problem. I'm now on vacation & I haven't gone in 5 days. I'm starting to feel a touch uncomfortable. Any suggestions? Bev

Gluten Testing - Result Comparison

I was just tested for gluten by the U of WA Med Ctr (UWMC), which was negative. Hooray! I think?! I'm confused about the gluten test & the celiac test. I keep reading about the Enterolab's tests. Is there a possibility there would be a difference between them & UWMC? I can eat whole wheat br...
