i might fire all my doctors and start over

Hi everyone, First of all, thanks for being such a great source of support! I want to tell you that I am feeling much better these days, thanks to several factors, primarily Paleo Diet, DGL, fish oil, and the entocort (which I am tapering off of). However, I am very bothered by a couple of encounter...

Starting the PALEO DIET with near-100% compliance

Ok, my LC is now under control with the use of Entocort, BUT my aphthous stomatitis reared its ugly head again this week after I lowered my Prednisone dose to 2.5 mg and after I had the FLU last week (!). BAM! I had a mouth full of awful sores within a few days of lowering the steroid dose (which ha...

Hi Gloria - I am not sure about the dairy intolerance. I just think my gut is so inflammed right now, I am going to react to ANYTHING that isn't basic food. I tried Lundberg Organic Rice Chips yesterday, too, and I have terrible right side pain today. So, I am heading to PALEO DIET land this week to...

Well, my doctor said to go ahead and go to my parties this weekend and eat whatever I want... just take some immodium along in case. I just don't think I can do that. I broke down last night and bought a frozen GF pizza and my gut hurts today. It is better as the day progresses, but I shouldn't have...

I beg to differ that MC is not life threatening. When I ended up in the ER a couple weeks ago, I was extremely dehydrated, tachycardic and had a fever of 100 or so for more than a week prior from the dehydration. I had severe diarrhea for 9+ weeks before that and had lost 9 pounds in the previous 10...

So, at this point, I would like to know how long you all had to eat very-low fiber with overcooked veggies and overcooked fruits before you could go back to a more normal diet. I like eating paleo, but honestly, I tried some raw apples last Saturday and I have never felt so awful as I felt on Sunday...

I love my Entocort, too. I am on DAY 12 and feeling so much better it's just ridiculous they didn't think of this sooner! It took me a full week of Entocort for the diarrhea to stop, but it has not returned at all. I am so happy! It's just weird to be taking pepto at the same time, since it turns th...

I used tamiflu during the winter flu outbreak here in the northeast, and it prevented me from getting ill. I am surprised, however, at reading all the stuff about Vitamin D and immune system. As you read in my other post about my recent LC diagnosis, I have been very ill for a year. However, the big...

I just wanted to let you all know how much better I am feeling. I have more energy and have been able to keep up my performance & teaching schedule since the diagnosis. I even sang 2 opera performances yesterday (!). So, I am still eating almost entirely PALEO, but have also been eating steamed ...

The problem I have with the whole 'parasite' issue is that I have had them TWICE before - confirmed with testing - and I hadn't left the country either time (which is the 'gold standard' reason why you would get them). The current testing for ova & parasites only tests for a small percentage of ...
