Hi dottydog, I didn't go ahead and try it. Instead I got Thorne's Pepti-Guard for a healthy stomach lining on Amazon with bismuth citrate, etc. It IS expensive but I just take one a day unless I have a flare-up. Worked much better for than Pepto-Bismol.

Tex, yes, thanks! That is what I thought as well. Though wasn't getting the NSAID connection; just that the different form may be better for me. Unfortunately I take 81mg aspirin for heart disease which isn't as much as that in Pepto Bismol yet the total amount couldn't have been be helpful. Don't k...

Hi Tex and all, ever since an extremely stressful event, I had my first migraine with aura. During the early years, these were accompanied by pain. And always got one after a stressful event had passed; the let-down (pressure release?) phenomenon. Now they are mostly pain-free although I feel unsett...

Wayne, thanks for replying. Not being a fan of cover-up odors, this seems a happy solution. And what an elegant way of expressing one of our issues. I'm now dividing my post into two questions, the odor question being answered. Beyond odor though, I'm still wondering about the healing ability of Tho...

TXBrenda an Marcia, thanks so much for the ideas. Poo-Pourri sounds doable although I have to wonder what about the fragrance between ejection and the toilet?

Hydrogen Sulfide Odor

Hi all, Visiting with friends/family has been quite a problem due to the lingering smell of the diarrhea wafting through the entire house. Although touch and go at times, running to the bathroom wasn't as much an issue as I've developed strong sphincter muscles with exercise. (I can't believe I'm wr...

To Jean re G=Gluten, C=Corn, D=Dairy, S=Soy

Thanks so much for your work, Jean. Wow. Do you mean that labels for the hydrolyzed proteins aren't required to be listed anymore but are still in many products?

Mastic Gum for healing

Hello, I can't find anything here specific to Mastic Gum though maybe I'm not putting in the correct search terms. Has anyone used Mastic Gum in place of Pepto Bismol? (Which isn't working too well for me and I have cut out gluten and the other food intolerances according to EnteroLabs). One woman m...

Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Extract, etc. for healing

Has anyone used the following product as a substitute for Pepto Bismol and/or to repair the stomach lining? I am gluten-free, etc. according to my EnteroLab report yet still have issues. Guess it’s early days yet. I’m thinking a good coating might help in the meantime...until the day when I get bett...

Thanks for replying quickly, Tex. No, I didn't react in the EnteroLab test. However, since variety in food seems to be the spice in my life, plenty of culprits come to mind.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae . Baker's yeast . An issue?

Hello, I've attempted to understand what is being said about the above yeast. Here: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1440-1746.2005.04027.x and here:https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0066088 where it doesn't seem to have any use as a diagnostic tool. ...
