Polly,
Thanks for your reply. I am trying 4,000 IU of D and will see if my psoriasis improves. I am GF. although not celiac. The only thing I notice is that stress aggravates the psoriasis, but it never disappears.

Polly,
How much Vitamin D you take daily? I take only about 1200.IU. My blood level was fine (40) when I had it checked in December. I am wondering if more Vit. D would clear up my psoriasis.

Vitamin A

Polly, I do not understand retinol versus beta carotene. Do you mean 2330 units of retinol only and no beta carotene? My vitamins express the units as 60% vitamin A acetate, 40% beta carotene. Is the acetate "retinol"? The total amount is 5,000 units, so I need to replace it anyway. Can yo...

Thanks Tex and Rosie! Rosie, you were correct. I e-mailed Enterolab at Tex's suggestion and they responded that the fish oil would affect the fat absorption test only, not the gluten. Oh well, worth a try. I have been off gluten since 2004 when I received the positive gluten-sensitivity results from...

Since I have been taking fish oil for years and was diagnosed as gluten-sensitive by enterolab a few years ago, I am wondering if fish oil affects the results of stool tests. At that time they did not have instructions to refrain from fish oil for 7 days. Does anyone know why this would be necessary...

Sleep

Immune issues and sleep - a great topic. I have had sleeping issues for years. My LC is so much better with a gluten free diet. (I am gluten-sensitive, not celiac) But my sleep problems continue. I have problems with Lunesta and Ambien (most of the time they don't seem to work and I almost always fe...

Leaky gut

I recently read an article by Dr. Fasano linking gluten sensitivity and celiac disease with a leaky gut. I thought I remembered reading something about that on this site, but I cannot locate it. Does anyone have any info about this condition? Thanks

Thanks Tex.
I do not have a lactose problem. I guess my message was confusing...I have stomach flu like symptoms, not regular flu stuff. The confusing thing for me is that the reaction does not always happen. I took an ambien on Sunday and felt fine on Monday.

does anyone have intestinal problems with ambien?

I have had insomnia for years and have tried various prescription and non-prescription remedies. I have MC diagnosed with a biopsy and have it mostly under control. Several years ago, I found that ambien helped me sleep, but I would have intestinal gas, nausea and sort of flu synmptons the day after...

Psoriasis

Does anyone else here have psoriasis? I have had these red spots that look like insect bites from time to time over the last few years. Recently they have become more widespread, especially on my legs. My dermatologist says it is psoriasis. Is there any connection (that anyone knows of) to gluten se...

goat and sheep cheese

I think I have a casein allergy as my symptoms seem better after skipping milk products for a few days. (I am gluten-free). Question: Can I eat goat and sheep milk cheese or is it only the cow products?

fiber

Last night I watched a PBS show featuring Brenda Watson featuring her new book H.O.P.E. She talks all about the importance of Omega 3's, acidophilous, digestive enzymes, and Fiber. It all made sense and I wonder if anyone takes fiber (and has MC, I mean!) Her suggestion was oat bran, acacia or flax.

ibuprofen

I was told when diagnosed with MC that it could have been caused by anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen and never to use them again. However, I am suffering with back pain these days and tylenol just doesn't help. My MC is better with a GF diet, but of course there are always ups and downs. Does anyo...
