Re: Figuring out food triggers.

Thanks Tex!
I did not know that , this being my first attempt. I actually did think something had gone wrong when my message seemed like it sent but stayed in the outbox. Thanks for explaining

Re: Figuring out food triggers.

Hi Fradeh, A strange coincidence indeed! I was diagnosed with cancer but when I finally got the kidney out three months later it turned out to be a rare combination of benign tumours. I almost didn’t post about the Pepto but glad I did, although Bob probably already knows he can’t take it. I tried t...

Re: Figuring out food triggers.

It’s true that many have found success with Pepto. Alas I was unable to take it because I only have one kidney. Pepto is not an option if your have kidney disease for whatever reason.

Re: Figuring out food triggers.

You are more than welcome Fradeh! It is so difficult to navigate, especially at the beginning. I read and read and tried different things, stumbled, tried other things and eventually found myself here. In the end I still had to figure out what I thought would work best for me, which can take you on ...

Re: Figuring out food triggers.

Hi Fradeh, I can only speak to my own experience, we are all so different, which makes this so difficult as one size really doesn’t fit all. I struggled for a long time trying diet alone for a long time (no gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, chicken, rice, beef) based on the Enterolabs food testing. I could n...

Re: Anyone tried the Elemental diet?

Thanks Gabes! I know you have been involved for such a long time and it means a lot that you still always take the time to answer all the posts and always have something encouraging to add. It is a long old road with lots of twists and turns and ups and downs but with lots of hard work and always ke...

Re: Anyone tried the Elemental diet?

Hi K. Darby, It’s been a long time since I’ve posted. In the end I just didn’t feel I could do the Elemental diet. I got some samples (Jini Patel and the actual Elemental Diet) and tried it out and realized that there was no way I would be able to do it, I felt pretty awful after the shakes, all the...

Thanks Tex, Yes, one of the reasons I never considered the elemental diet in the past was exactly for that reason and that all reports were that compliance was so low because the formulas themselves were hideous in taste. This Jini Patel’s formula seems very well thought out, she has been careful to...

I just received that email today as well, and it was interesting timing because I have been wondering about a similar approach lately. So Dr Fine seems to be going down a road where you make the bowel a blank slate and the seed it with probiotics, which is what I have been recently looking into by w...

Anyone tried the Elemental diet?

I have been having my ups and downs over the last four months trying to get some sort of handle on this darned LC. I went strictly gluten, dairy, egg, soy free after having the Enterolabs testing. I still seem to be kind of all over the map with not yet achieving any day to day consistency, still wa...

I did not know that, very interesting. I am trying to find alternatives to rice as it scored high on my Enterolab testing. Seems everything GF is rice based. So I will be experimenting to make my own bread from sorghum and millet and teff. Some things turn out pretty good, some are epic fails but I ...

https://minimalistbaker.com/5-ingredient-buckwheat-crepes/ Found this recipe for buckwheat crepes. I make a batch, really thin ones and freeze them between wax paper. Favourite breakfast is two crepes fried crispy in a bit of coconut oil with a thin layer of almond butter spread on after. Mmmm, deli...

Good wine news!

That’s so great Brandy!! I have just entered month three of no wine. I still miss it tho at the end of the day. I am hopeful that by the end of May, when I do the Oregon coast with a girlfriend, that I will be able to partake here and there without too much backlash. So your news is very encouraging...

Yogti Magnesium Oil

I found this brand on Amazon and I really like it. No stinging, itching or sticky residue. Very nice and potent. 10 sprays provides 206 mg of magnesium.

This might just confuse the issue for you, I don’t know. There are so many pieces to the puzzle and everyone is so different. For myself, originally I had really severe SIBO, and although I know now that diet, and for me, giving up gluten, dairy, soy and eggs has done wonders, back then I really thi...
