Re: 2nd Enterolab tests? Update
Hi all! I'm working on the elimination diet, eliminated white potatoes first, and things improved greatly on the third day, but today is the fourth day and things went south again. Diarrhea, gas, the whole thing. Also, I've not eaten avocado, so that was not it either. In the meantime, I took Tex's ...

Re: 2nd Enterolab tests?
Tex- I don't really remember if I had fewer issues when taking one Budesonide every day. I do know that when I completely stop taking it, diarrhea returns within a week or so. I have been concerned about changing the dose too often because I don't want it to lose effectiveness. Regarding avocados, I...

Re: 2nd Enterolab tests?
Tex- I do eat chicken, but none of the other foods that you mentioned. I don't itch or sneeze after eating it though. I have been eating a lot of avocados lately and I think they are high histamine! I will stop right away. I drink about a cup and a half of black coffee in the morning and I use organ...

Re: 2nd Enterolab tests?
Thank you both so much, Tex and Gabes. I have avoided gluten, soy, eggs, dairy and all foods that I showed sensitivity to on the Enterolab test results. Gabes, my home is not gluten free, but we don't have wheat flour in the house and I have my own utensils and my husband and son do their own cookin...

2nd Enterolab tests?
Hello everyone! While I am doing much better than the last time I was here, I still have not reached remission after almost 4 years. I'm thinking I need to do Enterolab tests again. At the time I did them, I had been taking 9 mg Budesonide for well over a year. Dr Fine told me at the time that would...

Re: Questions about digestive enzymes and Vitamin B
Thank you Tex. Yesterday the NP told me exactly the same thing, my pain would be in a different place if it was gallbladder. She said it is gas pain due to MC. She suggested increasing my dose of Budesonide to 3 mg every other day and said it is safe to take that dose long term. And you said that Bu...

Re: Questions about digestive enzymes and Vitamin B
I don't even know what to look at in my diet that could cause inflammation. I have stayed on the Stage 1 diet this entire time, I make all my food myself, and I had Enterolab testing so I know what foods to avoid. I am completely GF SF DF and I never cheat, not even a little. I want remission too mu...

Re: Questions about digestive enzymes and Vitamin B
Thank you so much, Tex. I will compare labels of the two B vitamin brands. I think there is more than BAM going on because I have really bad gas pain now, which I have not had since the beginning of colitis, but also this sharp pain on my right side. Yesterday was a very painful day, and this mornin...

Questions about digestive enzymes and Vitamin B
I am once again seeking wisdom from this life saving group. I want to try Vitamin B supplement and I did some research here and found that Thorne Methyl Guard Plus is highly recommended. It is expensive and I found a less costly one, Doctor's Best brand, that has the active form of B-12, methylcobal...

Re: Could corn sensitivity be the culprit?
And I am 67, so no spring chicken either :) I know the older we are, the longer it takes to heal too. My mom always said getting old is not for the faint of heart! She was so right!!

Re: Could corn sensitivity be the culprit?
Thank you both so much. You have helped me once again calm down and relax about this frustrating disease. No one understands what we are going through like someone who has been where you are.

Re: Could corn sensitivity be the culprit?
Thanks Gabes and Tex! To answer your question about body cream Gabes, I use Savonnerie soap, shampoo, and lotion. It is certified gluten, soy, and corn free. I also use gluten free makeup now. As for histamine issues, I have never had allergies before so I am having a hard time figuring out what is ...

Re: Could corn sensitivity be the culprit?
Thanks Gabes! You really eased my mind about avoiding corn in meds! I did freak out a bit :) I have read about histamine issues on this board. I avoid high histamine foods and have been reading about taking Histame, and using Benadryl. Is that what you mean when you say "low histamine lifestyle...

Could corn sensitivity be the culprit?
I feel bad asking so many questions, but I don't know what to do. It's been over a year since my diagnosis, and am still having D. I went back to taking 3 mg Budesonide every other day (I was down to 3 mg every third day). I removed gluten from my daily life as much as possible. I read on this board...
