Re: Antigen Testing

I understand, thank you for your feedback, Tex. In contemplating where I am on the continuum of sensitivity to a particular food, my primary interest was in terms of which foods I might try first to add back in (post-medication, one at a time). The 1+,2+, 3+ rankings on the "antigenic foods&quo...

Re: Antigen Testing / EnteroLab results

Tex, thank you ~ once again ~ for your valuable input. I'm still learning about the various "inflammation markers" & want to know more. But given that what's important for our poor colons is the IgA factor ~ & this Dunwoody Lab test doesn't look for it ~ I'm not going to waste my m...

Antigen Testing - Dunwoody Labs

Hello. I've done the EnteroLab testing & am abiding by the dietary info I learned from the results. I've also read all I could here about the fact that Colitis inflammation issues are best detected in stool ~ rather than blood ~ samples. IgA rather than IgE A friend is about to do a blood test f...

Re: Also new, would appreciate Enterolab results help

Thank you so very much, Tex. One of the fascinating (frustrating) things about MC is that it seems to present differently in different people. However, there seem to be similarities across the MC spectrum ~ & your experience & advice are priceless.

Re: Also new, would appreciate Enterolab results help

Thank you very much, Tex (aka MC Lifeline!). So my dietary choices have narrowed drastically, which will be an interesting challenge. (Today when I needed a snack I literally stood in the middle of the kitchen like a lost soul...) If you don't mind a couple more questions for your opinion: With almo...

Also new, would appreciate Enterolab results help

Hello all. Relatively new here but have been suffering with MC (CC) for a long time. I'm two weeks into Budesonide 9mg/day, set to take it for two months then hopefully wean off. For me it's been a miracle drug, quickly helping with symptoms. I'm thrilled, of course, but am very aware that this is t...

Re: H Pylori / EcoLab

Thank you both for your replies. You are true heroes here. For what it's worth, I may HAVE to address the H Pylori because my count is now very high and HP can lead to ulcers and to stomach cancer. I'm starting with a new doctor next month and feel certain she'll want to put me on antibiotics, espec...

H Pylori

Hello. I'm curious what you veterans know about the connection, if there is one, between H Pylori infestation and Colitis. I've been diagnosed with a very high H Pylori count ... which I've been viewing as a separate issue from my CC. I'm going to try Pepto Bismol, which I've researched extensively ...

Pepto dosage?

Hello. I'm going to start the Pepto Bismol 8-week trial. I've done a lot of research ~ including on the NIH site ~ and have decided to try this for the time-being. However, I'm confused about dosage because everything I read says "two tablets or equivalent dosage per day." There are many d...

Which book to read?

Hello. Brand new to this forum & so grateful to have found a good, caring, honest source of info for something I'm only beginning to learn about. First of many questions (& I apologize if this has been covered; I'm still learning to navigate the site): I'd like to start with just one of Mr P...
