Re: Depression and antihistamines
I have trouble getting to sleep, or staying asleep some nights, myself. I find that the less caffeine I drink during the day, and the more exercise I get, the better I sleep, by far. In fact, if I drink no more than 2 cups of coffee, and do that early in the morning, avoid any afternoon naps, and g...

Re: Depression and antihistamines
Hi Tex, Thanks for your reply. Is there another antihistamine that can help with sleep besides Benedryl? I saw that it was a possible risk factor for Alzheimer's here. I have been on Magnesium for several years. I do take it at bedtime. I'm not sure what else I can try that helps with depression and...

Depression and antihistamines
Hello everyone, I need some advice, please. I had to stop Prozac which I took for depression. That seems to have helped with my MC symptoms however, now I have depression. My Dr. said Wellbutrin was not going to help me. I know I read somewhere that antihistamines can help. (Can't find that post now...

Thank you all for replying.
I am going to try a little chili pepper this weekend to see if I can tolerate it. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Re: Eating Plan - Stage TWO
Hello community!
I am slowly reintroducing a few foods. (Chocolate occasionally!)
I am wondering when I could start with spicy things? What are good starter spices? I am tolerating pepper well. I also seem ok with cinnamon.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Is there a guideline of what order to reintroduce foods?
Thank you. Yes, it helps. I'm feeling a bit down lately and I'm craving flavor. I need to figure out different ways to use the things I can eat i guess. I'm only 5 months in. I'm feeling pressure from family to introduce new foods. "A little bit won't hurt" or "You're your own worst e...

Is there a guideline of what order to reintroduce foods?
When I was diagnosed I stopped eating almost everything. I eat rice, chex, turkey, well cooked veggies gluten free pasta beef and duck eggs. I can not afford the Nutrolab test. I have searched but cannot find any guidelines pertaining to what order is easiest on the gut. Can anyone help me?

Re: Suggested Eating Plan - Stage ONE
I'm no dietitian, but in my opinion, as desperately as most of us need fat and/or calories in our restricted diets, in order to prevent further weight loss, if I wasn't having diarrhea because of too much fat, I'd be happy as a lark with that diet. Coconut oil is promoted by many as good for the di...

Re: Will the diarrhea ever stop?
Have you seen any improvement in your symptoms, or are they just as bad as they were originally (before you adopted the diet)? If you haven't seen any degree of improvement, you're sure your diet is iron clad (secure and safe), and you haven't improved after a few more weeks, it might be time to tr...

Re: Will the diarrhea ever stop?
Artificial sweeteners, especially aspertame, are off limits. Sugar must be minimized, but maple sugar and cane sugar are usually the safest choices. Some of us can tolerate stevia. If Metamucil will stop the diarrhea, your symptoms appear to less persistent than they are for many of us, when we're ...

Will the diarrhea ever stop?
Hello folks, I have been on a clean, healthful diet for about 2 months. GF, DF, nut free, soy free, fruit free, only overcooked veggies, etc. I have not seen Norman since June. Thankfully we haven't been away anywhere but at this point, I don't know if I even can go away because I always have to go!...

Re: What do I tell my doctor?
Wendy, Speaking of hijacking product names, milking those almonds every morning is a real chore. 😂 Hi Tex, Thanks for the info on Addison's disease. I'll keep an eye on that and stay away from herbs for now. I saw the Dr. today and I think it went well! She agreed with how I had changed my di...

Re: What do I tell my doctor?
I'm sensitive to soy and peanuts, but I can eat pure (no additives) almond butter and cashew butter. They're delicious. Sunflower butter, pistachio butter, walnut butter, and possibly a few others are available, also. Turkey sausage is fine. You can prepare turkey in many ways. You can even get tur...
