Chynthia, I don't post much either because I can not find the solution either! So you have my true sympathy in this battle to have a normal life. I always used Once Again organic sunflower seed butter; can't tolerate any nut butters. However, I just tried the Sunbutter Natural recently and it has to...

Gabes, I think you have something: my current pondering is, that once MC is active, it is almost like it has reprogrammed our immune systems. and from that point onwards no one can make sense of it anymore. I was moving along quite nicely a year ago; 1 Entocort every 3 days and a little Imodium and ...

Rae, I love camping! As you can see I have many food intolerances, but camping has allowed me to enjoy other places and the outdoors! Gabes suggestions are right on. I do a lot of preparation before we leave for a week and freeze. I make a ground nut, squash and ghee like "brownie" that I ...

Deanna, a lot has been said and very good advice. It takes a lot of patience to deal with this disease and fortunately, there is a wealth of information on this website. I myself would opt for the Entocort. I never had to take more than two and mostly one a day for a year and half and then for some ...

Kari, my alternative med doc uses this brand in her recommendations. I am going to check with the pharmacy to see if they carry it and I might try it.

I use the NOW brand because I can get it locally. It is pretty "pure" compare to any others and you can see that I can not tolerate much. I am sure the Freeda brand would be perfect as well.

Joe, I have BCBS and I can get a 3 month supply (270) for $20 thru mail-in. Yes it is generic but works the same. I will only be able to do this 2 more times before Medicare kicks in.

Shirley, my heart goes out to you. I have also "walked in your shoes" and it was not easy. My mother was not ready for it, but at the time we had no choice. Please no that you are doing the right thing and time, as they say, is always the best healer. Everything is an adjustment; a give an...

Tex, yes I have CC and I have tried H1 & H2 blockers; not necessarily at the same time. I took allergy shots for years. When we first started discussing the possibility of mast cell issues (almost 2 yrs ago), I did go on Zyrtec and a low fiber diet. It worked very well for a month or so and then...

Still fighting the battle..............

It has been awhile so will give you just a brief update. In Jan I saw my GI (one that is on the recommended list) and was ready to discuss immune suppressants. He probably took 15 min. telling me all the issues and there was still only a 50-60% chance of it working. (My husband is not for this, but ...

Charlotte, I have been to 3 GI's so far and each has their good and bad points. I take away only the good. We are all so different and I think you know your body the best as to when to "up or lower" the meds. Now as far as the side affects, as my GI at Baylor College of Medicine said to me...

Tex, totally agree with your thoughts about the holidays; I have dreaded them the last three years. Sad, but I find myself now and then watching cooking shows and then I just want to slap myself :duh:. My social life has diminished to "coffee hour" with my friends (which I really look forw...
