Re: Soy-free magnesium topical?

Leena, I use Life Flo brand magnesium lotions and oils. There's also Ancient Minerals magnesium oil - don't know if they have magnesium lotion.

Re: More Unique Symptoms

A couple of months prior to my initial MC flair I had balance problems and peripheral neuropathy (right arm and right leg would become numb and tingly). I went to my doctor about these problems, he had me checked for Multiple Sclerosis, which came out negative. My neurological symptoms cleared up wi...

Re: Enterolab Results

I eat whole cuts of lamb (loin chops and shoulders). I used to eat ground lamb, but I think I got a cross-contaminated batch a little over a year ago, so I avoid ground meats now. Right now I cut the fat strips off of the lamb because my ability to digest fat is compromised. I inhaled some spackle t...

Re: Enterolab Results

Hello onebigpill, I find that keeping it simple is the best route. My diet consists of lamb, turkey (without preservatives), sweet potatoes and water. I also made a mantra of Tex's quote "Eat to live, don't live to eat". The low variety route also makes it easier to track down the culprit ...

Hello Sharv, I had problems with oatmeal even before my initial flare started. Most people on this site have a reaction to dairy (including me) so the yogurt may be an issue. The tofu is fermented soy I believe, and soy can be a problem - although it's fermented in this case, so I don't know. If you...

Hi Elizabeth, sorry you are going through another flare. Your problem does sound like BAM but I would not dismiss the idea that it is one of your o.k. foods that is causing the flare, either from cross contamination or a new sensitivity. The "it's always been o.k. before" thought has gotte...

Hello Leena and welcome to the site. My impression on the squash (and other veggies) is that although you may not have an immune reaction to them, your ability to digest them is currently compromised. I would go with the couple of foods that don't cause diarrhea and stick to those for a few months, ...

Hi Dorothy, What are the ingredients in your protein drink? Seems like other people in this site have had problems with protein drinks, especially the commercially available ones. Also make sure to find out what ingredients are in these "cure ingredients" posted by Martin before you dive i...

Re: Newbie with questions

Good morning Karen, Your list of foods that you react to looks the same as mine. I just eat lamb, turkey and sweet potatoes. I don't eat a lot of sweet potatoes - they don't cause a reaction, but they don't digest well when my gut is inflamed. My understanding about vegetables in general is that man...

Re: Broccoli Extract supplement

Miley (Ann Marie?) I'm glad to hear you're doing better (and quickly too!). My undoing on two occasions has been trying to introduce supplements. I also had a problem with the xanthan gum contained in the Pepto Bismol liquid form. Target had run out of the Pepto lozenges, so I substituted with the l...

Re: Broccoli Extract supplement

Here's a discussion I found about cruciferous vegetables. The hormone replacement supplement could well be a contributor to your flare since it probably contains sulforaphane. https://perskyfarms.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=14842&hilit=Sulforaphane Are you still taking the supplement? If you are t...

Re: Broccoli Extract supplement

Hello Miley I would put my money on the occasional gluten ingestion being the culprit - it would certainly explain the length of your flare. Remember that the antibodies for gliadin hang around a long time so each incident of gluten exposure is going to accumulate those antibodies, even if your expo...

Spackle

Hello all. I have been looking for possible causes for my current MC symptoms (occasional watery stool, mucous and weight loss). I did read in one of the celiac sites that spackle often contains wheat starch. Has anyone heard of that? I spackled some holes my old apartment and it involved sanding do...

Re: Connective tissue disease and MC

Pretty sure there is. Arthritis is (generally) an autoimmune disease. When you have a leaky gut, peptides that should not be in your bloodstream end up in your bloodstream, this results in your immune cells attacking those peptides (due to them being foreign bodies). Unfortunately, normal tissue end...

Re: Recovery diet is working

Good to hear about your diarrhea going away.

I know that there are lagging symptoms related to MC - fatigue being the main one (that I know of). There's damage that has to heal and healing takes time.
