mesalamine rash
I have been on mesalamine for 6 months. I had previously done a round of budesodine that caused a lot of side effects. While it corrected my MC for a while, it did not stick, hence the mesalamine. While I have been on mesalamine, I developed a rash/pustules on my butt cheeks. The doctor first treate...

Re: Enterolab and Insurance
Thanks, Marcia. It was very helpful. I have cut out all gluten & dairy and stopped eating any tuna & oats based on the results. I am better, though not in remission yet.

Enterolab and Insurance
I submitted my invoice for my A1+C1 Enterolab testing to Anthem. I had paid $399 + shipping. They reimbursed me $283.08. Of course they did not cover the $30 shipping. I was pleased they covered as much as they did; I had no idea what they would do. I am sure all insurance policies are different.

Re: food processing beans other foods - safer? less fiber?
Thanks, Tex. I did Entero Lab recently and had a 10 for soy. I know a 10 means positive. You had told someone else that a 10 might mean their body recently started reacting to it. Did I understand that correctly? I suppose I should nix the bean idea for now as I am in a flare. Thanks for all you do.

food processing beans other foods - safer? less fiber?
Hello - If I were to process beans in a food processor until they were smooth, would that reduce the fiber and then be okay to eat? That would be kind of like hummus. The same thought occurred to me about greens - like kale, spinach. I miss all those; it would be nice to eat them. Thanks.

Thank you so much. And I recently bought your book, "Microscopic Colitis." It is a wealth of information. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge.

how long off gluten before you can tell if it helps
Hello
I am about to go gluten free. I read somewhere (I think) that within "x" amount of time, I would feel a difference, like know it is helping. If that is correct, can someone tell me the timeframe of that. I recall a couple of days, but I am not sure. Thank you!

Re: First year with MC
Hi - Can someone tell me how often/long to soak my feet in epsom salts? Also, any more info on the topical magnesium would be appreciated. I found a product on Amazon, but I am not sure if it is any good. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXP8YRL/?coliid=I36ZCXZQ0INQM9&colid=4U9569KZELG9&psc=1&am...

Re: Coffee a trigger?
Gabes-Apg -I used a little milk in the coffee and some stevia. I use stevia all the time in my tea, so that's not it. I have eaten cheese & yogurt, so I don't think it's the dairy aspect.

Coffee a trigger?
I was diagnosed with Lymphocytic colitis in November 2020. I took Budesonide for 3 months, and it worked. While BMs were not exactly the same, it was not diarrhea. I was happy with the results. I had not had coffee for 8 months. I was particularly groggy one day and had one cup. I had one cup the ne...
