Re: New MC experience after IV treatment of Vancomycin. For Acute cellulitis
After incurring an acute case of cellulitis (first experience), I was admitted to hospital and treated with IV of Vancomycin for 5 days. Cellulitis-free symptom free, I was sent home with an oral antibiotic to use for a short period of time. Comments please on possible affect of very strong antibiot...

Re: LARGE red blood cells -count high
Thank you, Tex I am sorry to learn of the problems your brother is experiencing. My thoughts are with him and his medical advisors that a resolution is possible. If not a resolution, then a way to effectively manage the situation. As I work with my medical advisors, I will keep in mind the possibili...

Re: LARGE red blood cells -count high
Tex, Thank you very much. It always helps to go to a new doctor, or specialist in this instance being a hematologist, being informed about the possibilities as best I can. Not so much to initially direct his/her inquiry or assessment but to make sure I can present insight she/he may not think of per...

LARGE red blood cells -count high
My apologies if I am not posting this question as desired or required. It has been a while since I posted to this site. I have had MC for in excess of 20 years. I am working with my current doctor to address relentless fatigue even though I have been receiving weekly injections of B-12 and B-complex...

Re: Discontinuing Budesonide
Thank you, Tex
You just confirmed my thoughts re watermelon. Watermelon appeared to be the only item I consume frequently that could be causing my recent backward direction. I am cutting it out of my diet immediately. Darn, but really a small concession given the negative impact it has.

Re: Discontinuing Budesonide
Thank you, Tex Your input is deeply appreciated and encouraging. Continuing on a low dose of Budesonide will be pursued with my GI doc before I run out of the Rx. AND, reassessing how I will or will not join others @ restaurants even perhaps bringing my own safe snack to join them. With only three e...

Re: Discontinuing Budesonide
Need offer comments that may help with my Budesonide taper experience. After taking the 9 mg dose daily for 4 weeks, I went to 2 mg / day for 4 weeks. I was confident diet and Rx combined were going to be successful because my poop was between 4-6 consistently and the urgent trips to relieve myself ...

Re: Explosive diarrhea limiting my social life
Tex and Gabes, With your guidance, and Tex’s books, plus the results of my EnteroLab A1 and C1 tests, and strict adherence to dietary guidelines and restrictions, I have made tremendous progress. What a game changer!!!!! No more urgent watery D. No urgency now, and more control, with stools now cons...

Re: Frequent, sometimes severe, muscle cramps
Tex, I appreciate your sharing detailed information about muscle cramps. I tend to “overthink” things sometimes in trying to find resolutions or solutions. You always provide the level of information I need and state it so well. Jeanne P.S.Thank you for researching and authoring the two books on mic...

Re: Frequent, sometimes severe, muscle cramps
Gabes, thank you, I sincerely appreciate your comment, and I just as sincerely, and with embarrassment, appreciate that perhaps I should not have referenced the books. It is simply that I feel very fortunate to be learning so much from them, and from the input Tex and you are giving me. I initially ...

Re: Frequent, sometimes severe, muscle cramps
Thank you, Gabes. I will incorporate your advice into my self-care plan. OK, “Patience…. “. That word and trait is one I am going to be seeing and learning a lot about relating to MC😳😄. I have to admit that being a curious observer and striving to learn more about MC, the things I may be able to inf...

Frequent, sometimes severe, muscle cramps
My apologies for asking a question that has been written about in previous posts, but additional insight is needed for me. In previous posts, I have read muscle cramps may indicate the need for more: . magnesium . potassium . calcium Until I began following a very restricted diet, with greatly reduc...

Re: Explosive diarrhea limiting my social life
Thank you Tex and Gabes I am becoming so much more aware of MC ‘s impact to my body and the need for acceptance of this condition, living within the parameters this condition defines, and, in the process, of being guided by a vastly different path to healing then I had previously considered or known...

Re: Explosive diarrhea limiting my social life
WOW! Tex and Gabes. I eat what is normally considered a very healthy diet....just not for me, or me with MC. I rarely if ever eat processed foods learning a decade plus ago these were not healthy. And I have not eaten the most common allergens in recent times, except for the eggs provided me from my...
