Hey Gabes, It has been a while hasn't it. Well, still trying to figure it all out. Now dealing with blood sugar dropping a few times a day. Can't figure out why. My brother-in-law is back in the states this week from Australia. His son is graduating this friday. Can't wait to see him tomorrow. I hav...

Mary Beth, I did the genetic testing through Enterolab, and have a celiac gene and a non-celiac gluten sensitivity gene. If I am right, that means that both of my girls will each have one of these genes. I mentioned this to the pediatrician at my daughters recent physical, but he didn't seem to worr...

The verdict is in....CS it is!

I called the doc today to get the results, and the first thing she asks is "How is the GF diet working for you?" I know I haven't posted in a while, so I guess I should first say that since I went GF I have not had any cramping, or urgent need to find a bathroom  The number of times...

I decided that I needed to eat this morning before going to bed (I work tonight 7p-7a), so I ate some chex rice cereal with soy milk. It has been about an hour now and nothing...... no cramping, no "bubbling bum" as Gabes would say (I love that expression Gabes! he he) Hmmm....it makes me ...

Well, after reading all these posts, there is not much more to add. I think each and every one of these lovely people have said it more eloquently than I could...... :yourock: I feel so fortunate to have found this site. I actually found this site years ago, but as I was in school and then started w...

I was hoping I could just get by without gluten or dairy  I will just try to eat things I know don't make me sick, and then add the soy to see what happens. I will give myself a day to rest without it though.

Soy may be out!

So everything was going great, no cramping, feeling good, (stopped eating nuts), no dairy. I decide to try soy milk, soy yogurt instead. I had a yogurt yesterday, no prob. Drank a small glass of soy milk, had a little discomfort, not bad. Tonight I ate another yogurt as desert, and after a couple of...

An almost good night....

Well, Tuesday was my third official GF day. All was going great. No cramping, no "urgent" trips to the bathroom.......until about 6:30 this morning as my shift was about to end. The only thing I can think of that I ate that might have caused the pain are nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashews, pe...

My husband definitely wants me to let my GI know about my gene test results when I get my biopsy results to see what they say. I definitely think that the earlier we know the better it will be as far as getting them use to eating GF if they have to. I am eliminating dairy on my oldest daughter to se...

Tex, So according to this I have one celiac and one non-celiac gluten sensitivity gene from each parent, and my daughters each have one of these genes. So should I have them tested or just go GF with them as well? They could be gluten sensitive or just carriers of the gene, right? I already suspect ...

Wayne, I just had both an endoscopy and colonoscopy done today to rule out celiac. I had a positive transglutaminase IgA, and endomysial blood tests. These tests are specifically for celiac sprue. When I had my endoscopy today the doc said my intestines showed no signs of inflammation, everything &q...
