Entocort and rapid weight gain?

Hi All: I've been happily D-free on Entocort for almost 7 months, and it's time to taper off. I did not gain weight for the first five months, then I put on a few in September and October, and I gained about seven pounds (10 total) in just the last few weeks. Could entocort be the culprit for the ra...

Entocort side effects

I just started Entocort 9 mg a few days ago; so far, I have less 'D'--encouraging!

I'm wondering what side effects people have experienced--particularly, weight gain and moon face. I know it sounds vain, but I do a little catalog modeling to supplement my income and I want to maintain my weight.

easy, yummy panini recipe

My panini maker has changed my life. I can now make delicious, toasty sandwiches and the press makes the g-f bread as close to the real thing as I've tasted in months. Here is the heavenly ham and cheese I just ate: Food For Life brown rice bread G-F ham (Dietz and Watson makes some good lunchmeats,...

Thanks, Joe and Tex! Joe, I live in Vermont and grew up in Nashua--greetings, neighbor! Tex: Will keep you posted; I see my gi doc tomorrow and will talk about possibly stopping prozac. While most of my doctors up the line over the last years have discounted this theory, I have always had this naggi...

SSRI

I just noticed a post from another newbie who takes an SSRI and a response that says there may be a connection to MC. I have been taking prozac or zoloft for the last three years, which coincided with the beginning of chronic D: could this be the cause, and if so, would stopping put me in remission ...

Thanks, guys! I thought I'd been magically cured--oh well; obviously, narcotics and antibiotics aren't sustainable solutions. It was nice while it lasted!

on the rolercoaster

I had been doing better following some dietary changes; then I had my wisdom teeth out two weeks ago, and amazingly, I had the most equisite normans for the past two weeks--while I was taking antibiotics and pain killers. I'm off the percocet now, and the diarrhea is back. Could the pain killers hav...

Toothpaste/ lipstick making me sick

Should I be concerned about gluten in mouthwash/ toothpaste and lipstick. Does Sodium Saccharine contain gluten? it's in my mouthwash. Any favorite g-f hygiene and cosmetic brands?

Thanks,
Scout

I second that Saint Tex nod  I think I'm going to try the lab route. And I made my husband read your post, and I'm finally getting my own toaster, cookie sheet! He's from Houston, so from one to another, he trusts another Texan  Charlotte: I am stunned by how fast and loose docs play wit...

thank you

for your responses. These are very complex issues indeed. Tex, two questions: 1. What is IOW? 2. I didn't understand what you meant about the multiple meds possibly masking one another; I am taking otc pepto, but no other meds for the MC. Did you mean the dietary approach and pepto at the same time?...

Confused by conflicting diet information

Hi all! I'm pretty new--diagnosed with CC a few months ago and got a red-carpet newbie welcome here a few weeks ago. I'm reading a lot about IBD, the Paleo Diet, and the SCD--I'm starting to digest some of it (pun intended), in terms of some of the universal no-nos. I was hoping I could share some ...
