Is there anyone in the Phoenix area?

If so, I would love to meet and compare notes, watch hummingbirds, put our feet in the pool?
Moderators, is the the best place to reach out?

Budesonide

I can't write too much now, but I wanted to tell you that my first two trials of Budesonide was difficult... I felt much worse. Each pill was like eating a hot coal. Horrible extreme feeling of heat & heartburn, night sweats. I DO tolerate name brand Entocort EC however. If you want more details...

Thanks for the welcome back

If I want my intestines to act up I drink black tea, diet soda, or have chocolate. (Anything with caffeine or artificial sweeteners). The safest thing for me is a DF, GF, low fiber, low caffeine, grain free, low sulfite, no garlic diet. Artificial sweeteners and some artificial colors are high sulfi...

Hi from another old newbie :)

I have been away for a long time, but I'm back and glad to hear familiar voices and so many new ones! I'm glad to see so much new information, and I'll be reading and reading..... Backstory: My first diagnosis of MC was in about 2003, but subsequent colonoscopies showed no evidence of it, despite ma...

I just thought I'd add my 2 cents... Pepto tablets GIVE me D, while the liquid agrees with me just fine. While your reaction is probably to salicylates, there are other ingredients that may be involved.

I just loved your description of the MC condition. Kudos!

No matter how we have arrived at MC, the disorder stinks. We have to stay flexible and hopeful, and open to analyzing it from a variety of angles and viewpoints.

Thanks very much Rich, I'll be thinking about you too. The classes use biofeedback, so I think the device I'm using (so I can see on a moniter when the exercise is working) is similar to what you're using. Yes, it helps a lot, doesn't it? If it's ok with you, I'll ask my therapist what suggestions s...

posting after a long absence

Hi everyone, My MC has been relatively controlled by diet modification for quite a while. However, I've had progressively frequent D in the past year, and incontinence even when I didn't have D. I went back to doctors (primary care, GI, then a rectal-anal specialist). The short story is that I have ...

I am catching up on posts - I don't check in very often! But I saw your comment about dairy in Asacol and thought I'd let you know that I could not take it (I'm assuming because of the diary). It actually GAVE me "D"! But I can take Entocort, and it helps for flares. Oddly, it does not hel...

Hi Everyone! I'm almost 100% Finnish, so I selected Scandinavian. People who live in Finland now are a mix of the original Lapland reindeer-raising Finns from the far north, and Swedes, and of course other nationalities. Finnish language is not related to the other Scandinavian languages, but is in ...

Tex and Gloria, What nice responses to Joannes post. I am impressed. Very compassionate, and informative. I thought I'd let you know that I've been taking d-mannose for about 10 days, starting with a small amount, increasing up to 3 times a day just the last 3 days. I've had to stop taking the Caltr...

Oh so sad. But how wonderful to be remembered for the work you did, and the difference you made in people's lives. And to be remembered for your spunk and resourcefulness, and most of all, graciousness. Words can't express how much it meant to me to get support and validation (and jokes) in dealing ...
