hoosier1, I guess I was lucky, because my gi doc only did one random biopsy of my colon, and it came up positive on my first colonoscopy. I was always one of those people who said "I'm never having a colonoscopy, that is gross", until I got really sick 6 months later, and started going 20-...

Tex, I agree. My best friend just had her first colonoscopy, and they biopsied her small intestine to check for celiac disease, but not the colon. Just makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Hi again, everyone, and Happy New Year! I just wanted to say that perhaps MC is a lot more common than doctors think, because not all GI docs routinely do colonic biopsies, just the regular scope, where everything looks normal. I think it should be a regular part of the procedure, especially with se...

mizzle, Tex knows best, but I have done a lot of research into this disease, and would love to help anyway I can. There is such a lot of info on this discussion board also. It is so helpful! Just know that MC is just not a little inconvenience, like a lot of info you find on the net. It can be very ...

Thanks, Tex, for the Crohn's/MC connection. I was thinking the same thing. Probably another research group with clipboards trying to sound important!

Luckily the vomiting doesn't happen very often. I had the worst flare of my life the other day due to something stressful that happened at work. I had to stay at work and felt so nauseated. But like you said, Tex, it doesn't seem to last that long. I have found something called Reed's ginger drink f...

Nausea with a MC flare??

Sorry if I am beating a dead horse with this question. I think it's been mentioned before. I have MC and a few times a year, I have very bad flares with nausea and even some vomiting. Diarrhea also. Yesterday I was in the middle of a bad flare at work, and developed intense nausea. I didn't feel lik...

Yes, my Raynaud's is fairly mild also. You should have good luck with the Imuran. I really am not on that much either, sulfasalazine, Levsin (for cramping), Humira, and some supplements. Oh yes, Tramadol if I need it for a little osteoarthritis pain. And anti-anxiety meds because of my coworkers. I ...

Joe, me too, I have Raynaud's also! Aren't we just a mess? It helps to have sympathetic, knowledgeable doctors, which are hard to find. I give myself my Humira injection this Sunday evening, and this sounds weird, but I can't wait. I feel so much better on the Humira. Also, I wanted to tell you, my ...

Joe, do you have Microscopic Colitis? I am glad you just have minimal damage to your joints and are pain-free now. If not caught early enough, there can be a lot of damage. Did you say you have AS? I can't remember - suffer from CRS (can't remember s**t) also. I want to say to everyone out there who...

Zizzle and Joe, my problems started about 4 years ago, with severe diarrhea, about 20-25 times per day. Kind of hard to ignore. Diagnosed with MC. I belong to the bone marrow registry, and requested my results, and found out I was HLA-B27 positive. Then there was achilles tendonitis and strange golf...

Joann, did the bird poop on your head?! I walk around the house with Smokey on my shoulder a lot, and sometimes when I am at the grocery store, I wonder why people are looking at me strangely, until I realize I have bird crap on the back of my shirt!!!

Polly, I forgot to tell you that I do have that book about Einstein the parrot. Didn't read it yet, though. If you love dogs too, or anyone else who loves pets, get the book "Getting Lucky". It is about Angel's gate animal hospice and Lucky is one of the dogs. I absolutely loved this book,...

Kari, thanks for telling me Betty is beautiful. We have a special connection. We are very closely bonded and there is something very special about her. Maybe it is because she is so fearful, and I have always had anxiety problems also, and we both have tummy problems! Thanks, Tex, for helping me get...

Polly, how unbelievable. I had no idea dogs could get MC. I'm afraid to ask, but how was the diagnosis made. Maybe that could be part of Betty's problem too. The vet has Betty on something called Tylan powder. It has an anti-inflammatory effect. It seems to work pretty well. I asked about Sulfasalaz...
