Osteopenia (sp),soy, gluten, etc.

Well, here I am, a 31 year old, recovering from a spontaneous hip fracture that required surgery and 3 screws in April, a diagnosis of CC, also in April, and now I've discovered from my bone density scan that I have osteopenia. My levels were 1.4 SD in my hip and 1.2 in my spine. Because of the CC, ...

And who knows how long I'd actually had the CC before the diagnosis....

Thank you Tex!

Wow! Thanks so much Tex! I appreciate the explanation. I always thought of soy as my friend but it could be my foe. I might find out someday.

Entocort keeps my flare ups under control for the most up, but I agree with Maggie that if I generally stick to a "clean" diet and away from the junky stuff, I'm better off.

What a great list, and you're really approaching this scientifically. I wish I had that discipline. I'm relying on Entocort heavily at this point and basically eating whatever sounds good to my tummy. I ate pizza the other night, though, and paid for it dearly the next day. I don't know if it was th...

Thanks so much to everyone!

Wow, I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who replied. This is such a warm welcome, and I feel like I have a lot of new information to look into. I wasn't given any other options by my doctor, so this is really great. Again, a great big thank you from me to you all. I so look forward t...

Just joined

Hi all. I just joined PP, due to a very nice email I received from a member who stumbled upon my blog about collagenous colitis. I was diagnosed about 2 and 1/2 months ago and am on Entocort to treat it. I know Entocort is supposed to have little to no side effect, but I swear I can feel it suppress...
