Re: skin rash because of food allergy?
Tex, I hope that you continue to improve and don't have a relapse this time!!! I totally get what you're saying about seeing "specialists". When my skin "erupted" I had no option but to seek help. It has been the worst physical ordeal I have experienced in my lifetime. The good t...

Re: skin rash because of food allergy?
Tex, 3 more things: 1) Thank you for the pancake recipe. I will try it since I'm not crazy about the mix I have been using. Fortunately, I don't react to eggs. 2) My neighbor has the same symptoms as you - the rash is localized in her lower legs/ankles/feet. She has found a steroid cream that helps....

Re: skin rash because of food allergy?
Good morning Tex, Well, good for you!!! It looks like your "good" was my "bad" . I went out to eat yesterday feeling confident that after 3 days of some relief, I could celebrate. The breakout started last night, and this morning I'm a hot, itchy mess  . I'd like to s...

Re: skin rash because of food allergy?
Tex, Hahaha - that's amazing - SOOO happy for you!!! The only thing I'd do differently is thin instead of thick sliced bacon. I love all things pork. What do you use for pancake batter? Getting back to skin issues, you'll be surprised to hear that I only had Pfizer. In the article, they say that peo...

Re: skin rash because of food allergy?
Tex, Your reaction to the article was like mine. After over a year of suffering and wondering where in the world my skin outbreak came from, I finally feel there is a logical explanation that makes sense to me. During this year I have seen 2 dermatologists, 2 allergists, one rheumatologist, one neur...

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2800873 Tex, Above is a URL for the article that brought this issue to my attention. Hopefully you can open it. It sure sounds like you are having similar issues to me. Histamines are a giant trigger for me as well. Once in a while I let m...

Re: skin rash because of food allergy?
Sonja, Just another thing to consider. Have you had the boosters for COVID? I just read an article from a Swiss scientific study that have found that some people develop skin rash after the boosters. Doing some research on the internet I have found some confirmation on this. Fortunately, I have now ...

Re: I'm back and need some advice....
Pam, I have not found any over the counter anti histamine that I can tolerate. I had a compounding pharmacy create one for me that was clear of my allergens. However, I had to get a prescription from my PCP to get it done. You may want to talk to your pharmacist or PCP for advice. This issue has com...

Pam,
I cannot take Zyrtec. According to the celiac board, someone called Zyrtec and was informed that all their products contain both dairy and gluten. Perhaps your daily use of Zyrtec is the culprit?
Best of luck to you,
Kari

Re: Saturated fat?
I used to think that coconut was harmless until my cholesterol level went up. I used coconut cream in my coffee and moisturized with coconut oil. When I realized that it is high in saturated fats, I stopped these two things, and lo and behold, next check-up showed levels within limits again. So, yes...

Re: Panic attacks
Dear LauraAnn, So sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Hopefully you've had the lumpectomy by now and are doing better. Regarding panic attacks, what always helps me short circuit them is to slow down my breathing, taking long, deep, full inhalations and long, slow exhalation. It works even better wh...

Re: Pig Roast
So glad you had a successful picnic Marcia - good to hear!!! My SO's sister, Sara, had a bday party in her beautiful garden yesterday. The family knows about my issues, so they made an amazing effort to accommodate me. There were fresh veggies and salads from their gardens, and they were grilled, or...

Re: Pig Roast
Marcia, So sorry you had to endure that situation. It's more than bad enough that you did not get to indulge like everyone else. Pig roast sounds really yummy to me. Anyhow, I'm going to Costco tomorrow, and I was wondering about the turkey you're mentioning. Is it a whole turkey, or turkey roast/br...

Re: Covid vaccine
A good friend of mine also had a severe reaction after her second dose of Pfizer. Flue like symptoms with fever, lasting a day and a half. Another friend was shivering and freezing, and simply could not get warm.
Love,
Kari
