Re: Soy-free magnesium topical?

Hi Gabes, thank you for the info! This is really helpful.

Now that I had this reaction, I’m wondering how I should approach any topicals moving forward. Should I stick to only applying it to my hands and feet?

Re: Soy-free magnesium topical?

Thank you John! I think I‘ll give the oils a try since they keep the ingredients much more basic.

Soy-free magnesium topical?

Hi there, does anyone have any recommendations for magnesium lotions that are free of soy-based ingredients? I attempted to use this lotion, but since I am sensitive to soy, it appears that it is causing symptoms (loose stools) for me: https://nfusemagnesium.com/collections/nfuse-natural-magnesium-l...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Very interesting, thank you for the information!! Despite the frustration that can come with navigating LC/MC, I believe that the rewarding part can be making these discoveries and connections along the way and learning what is best for our overall wellbeing, slowly but surely. I think for now I wil...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Also I just recalled - I did have a week or so within the past month where I didn’t have yellow squash in my meals, and I noticed my stools were much looser. Once I realized that the only thing I had changed was leaving out the yellow squash, I added it back in and the normans returned… At the time ...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

I suspected that if I am having normans while still eating jasmine rice, then it’s likely not an issue for me, though I was not sure if this would be putting me at risk of delaying my healing. There is still a lot I need to learn about this disease, but I am trying to get better about listening to m...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Hi everyone, I just received my Enterolab results and would really appreciate some help with interpreting them. Currently, I am having normans. My diet is as follows: -plainville turkey -zucchini -yellow squash -jasmine rice -coconut oil -sea salt If you think there is anything I should adjust right...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Hi Tex - I definitely reacted to the sweet potato, as I had a bristol 6 BM (likely from re-heating cooled sweet potato, as you described). It seems I cannot tolerate resistant starches right now. Good to know. It's a bit frustrating trying to test any new foods, as it feels like traversing a minefie...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Quick question - why might sweet potato cause looser stools during the recovery phase? I was attempting to test sweet potato after having normal stools, but it seems to be causing me to go from bristol 4 to bristol 5 consistency. I know that might not seem like much, but it's a noticeable difference...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Thank you so much Tex. Your advice has been a life saver!

I'll look out for those olive oil brands before trying anything. Hoping to return with good news soon.

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Hi all! Since my last post I’ve had good progress overall, with a couple setbacks.. - Started becoming painfully constipated without the zucchini & yellow squash peels. Added them back in and the normal stools returned within a few days. - Had an episode of waking up with nausea in the middle of...

Hi Tex - good to know! Hopefully that will be the case for me as well once I’ve done some proper healing for a while. Thanks!

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give a quick update on how things are going. I am already seeing great signs of improvement. I weaned off the chicken and I’m only eating turkey (from Plainville Farms) as my protein source. I also started peeling my zucchini and yellow squash before cooking them. For the...

Re: Newly diagnosed with LC, needing some guidance

Hi Fredi, I like your positive attitude! I’m not too fond of taking supplements if I don’t have to. I’d much rather get my nutrients from eating the right foods. I definitely take the small portions approach when testing new foods. Starting with 1/4 cup day one, 1/3 cup day two, 1/2 cup day three, s...
