Re: temazepam

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. At this point I am just going to accept this sleep pattern, but I will keep the various suggestions in mind.

Re: temazepam

Thank you, Tex. I thought I had signed up for the newsletter, but I guess not. I have now signed up. Getting poor sleep is exhausting, and it's discouraging to hear that sleep aids do not actually give quality sleep. Right now melatonin isn't giving me even quantity of sleep, much less quality. I wi...

temazepam

I've been having a hard time sleeping recently, often getting just 6 hours or less of sleep a night. Melatonin has not helped.

Temazepam has been suggested as a short-term solution. Have any of you taken this, or do you know if it's safe for people with MC to take?

Re: Einkorn - An Ancient Grain

Tex, would you send me the excerpt about einkorn? A nutritionist that I have worked with before (for a non-MC related issue) is trying to convince me that she can cure me of MC, and says that einkorn wheat is safe. I tried looking it up, but all I find is einkorn sites saying how the gluten in einko...

Re: My Son's Wedding

Marcia, it's wonderful to have family members who are aware, concerned, and care enough to make sure you can eat safely. It sounds like your new daughter-in-law and her family are lovely. Congratulations!!

Re: Covid vaccine

An update on my Monday morning post: By mid-afternoon Monday I began feeling tired and achy. I got a slight fever (99.3) and chills. Tuesday I felt pretty good, but Tuesday night I again had chills. Today, Wednesday, I don't have a lot of energy, but I feel okay. I definitely prefer these slight rea...

Re: Covid vaccine

I got my second Moderna shot yesterday. My arm is sore, but so far I haven't had any other reactions. No digestive issues from the first shot or this one. I, like Tex, am in Texas. There was some confusion and a rather long wait for the first shot, but yesterday went smoothly. They seem to be gettin...

Re: Hello MC Family, Friends and Newbies

It's nice to hear from you, Gabes, and learn that you are doing well. I'm doing okay too. My husband has always worked from home, so he continues on as usual. I had two jobs, one from home, and 3 days a week at a daycare. The daycare, which is associated with a graduate school, closed down in March,...

Re: Shingrix shot for shingles

Thank you for your replies, Rosie and Harmony. I'm glad to hear that neither of you experienced any ill effects MC-wise.

I think I'll check with my insurance to see if they will cover the Shingrix shots.

Shingrix shot for shingles

Has anybody gotten the Shingrix vaccine for shingles? If so, did it have any unpleasant effects on your MC? I got the Zostavax shot a few years ago, and had no problem with that. The Shingrix is more effective at preventing shingles. A friend just got it, and had a lot of pain in her arm, which seem...

I take a micro-nutrient multi-vitamin called Micro Daily, made by Engage Global. It doesn't have gluten, dairy or soy in it, and is a very good product. It's sold by consultants, so I can't tell you how to buy it, because I think that would be against the rules of the forum, but you can google it an...

Thanks for your responses, everyone. It gives me hope that a cortisone shot will be okay if that is what the doctor suggests.

The orthopedic surgeon's office finally called me with an appointment, after about 3 weeks. I see him next Thursday, a week from today.

I was also due for a colonoscopy. I asked my doctor if I could do the Cologuard test, and she agreed and ordered that. It's a mail-in test; you collect a stool sample and send it back to them in a pre-paid box. It was easy to do. They send all the equipment and clear directions. They don't want you ...

Cortisone shot?

I've had pain in my shoulder for about a year, and it's getting worse. My PCP prescribed a topical NSAID in May, thinking that since it's topical, it wouldn't cause diarrhea. Wrong. I've been dealing with diarrhea since then, after only using the topical NSAID for 4 days. My doctor thinks the pain i...

Topical NSAIDS

Can topical NSAIDS set off an MC flare? I've had a pain in my right shoulder since September. It started off mild, and has gotten worse. It only hurts with certain movements of my arm. I had planned to see my doctor about it when it got bad enough that it was bothersome, but then the pandemic came, ...
