That sounds like good advice. I will have my lipase levels checked and let you know. I also take magnesium. Both seem to help with the cramps. Thanks also to Sara for starting this thread. I now know that I can not do white rice (and other empty carbs), only brown rice. This has made a big differenc...

I can eat rice but i still have a problem with Rice Chex. I though it might be the preservative BHT because most preservatives give me problems. I agree that it might be something in the Rice Chex and you are Ok with rice.

I also take potassium pills. I do both night and day. What brand and dosage of pills do you take? My potassium tests low or borderline low. I can't eat any of the foods that are high in potassium, like potatoes, tomatoes, fish, chocolate, etc. The supplements I've seen aren't very high dosages. Glo...

Tex, I still seem to get D when i eat foods high in fats. It also seems to be the main cause of my MC. I eat a lot of low fat meats and egg whites for protein. Sorry it took so long to answer your question

I saw my doctor and asked him why I am so fatigued after eating a rice. He said that if you eat a large amount of starchy food without fat or protein the pancreas will produce to much insulin. This eventually results in the fatigued feeling. Since I am eating very low fat, he recommended eating more...

Sue and Gloria Thanks for posting your lists. I need to take the time to do this but my list is very similar to both of yours. No fruits, No vegetables except okra and lettuce, very low fat meats (cutting out fats helps the most), no legumes, no nuts(to much fat?). I break out in a rash if I eat nig...

Like Nancy I am off of all fruit but I think that I need to add them back in. What would be a good place to start? From these posts it looks like blue berries, apples, bananas. I think pears are a stone fruit and may have sorbitol. Ray

Sara I agree I think the tiredness is somehow related to the starches in rice. The more rice I eat the more tired I become. If I just eat a little bit it is no problem, and it is mainly at night. I really need to add more vegetables to my diet but many seem to make my MC worse. As to the magnesium, ...

The Rice Dream Enriched Original with the Yellow "organic" flag was the first gluten-free Rice Dream. I use the Organic Rice Dream but I was always afraid I would accidentally get the Original Rice Dream with barley. Now they say it is also gluten free. They have totally confused me. I use...

B12, Potassium, and Magnesium (Topical) seem the be the three big must have supplements for me. I always wonder if there aren't others. The MC diet is so limited, especially in vegetables and fruits.

My doctor does has had me taking vitamin D supplements for about 8 months (heavy at first and less now that the blood level is better). I will have my bone density checked in about 2 months. Hopefully there is an improvement.

I agree magnesium is not a cure. However I have learned, if you have MC you should supplement with potassium AND magnesium. And magnesium is a laxative. It works better for me to use it topically. I need to find a way to take calcium, the same problem is taking it orally irritates my bowels. I don't...

Magnesium Oil

I was diagnosed with MC about 2 years ago in addition to my earlier diagnoses of celiac sprue. I have had leg cramps at night for many years. I take potassium (Mayo clinic says that potassium deficiency is common with MC) which helps a lot but did not solve the problem. This fall new doctor recommen...
