Hi Deb,
The angel food cake at Whole Foods is already baked.
Also, while I have seen the "regular" Canyon Bakehouse breads at other places, I have only found the Heritage Style ones at Whole Foods. You can also order their breads online.

Good GF breads
Hi folks, I haven't posted in quite a while, but thought I would share about a couple good GF breads I have had recently. For those of you with access to Kroger Supermarkets, I had a very good Kroger brand GF bread while traveling this winter. And Canyon Bakehouse has a new line of breads called Her...

Colonoscopy prep
Hi folks, I haven't been on here in quite a while. I continue to have good, if uneven, success with the Welchol. Having my first post-LC diagnosis colonoscopy, and am nervous about the prep I have been given. Does anyone have experience with the two-step Suprep? This is the one where there are two d...

Paging Polly... Well, this Welchol seems to be the answer for me. Since starting it in Oct., urgency gone, yellowy liquid in the bowl gone, visible undigested food gone. The most consistently normal looking stool I've had since all this started nearly 5 years ago. Woo-hoo is all I can say! I have no...

Treese, Look for a copy of Gluten-Free Living magazine. Full of great recipes to try. In each issue they chart recipes by what they are free of. Although a number of the baking recipes call for different types of flours, you could experiment with recipe-ready, one-to-one substitutions with GF flours...

Polly, One of the things that prompted me to try the Welchol was the issue of what seemed like overactive motility. I was managing everything pretty well, but I kept having issues with visible undigested food. Since starting it, not a problem. Very interesting. I wonder whether I, too, will be able ...

Well, folks, I have been following this thread for a while. It sure sounded to me like bile acid might be playing a role for me, and so, a couple of weeks ago, I asked my GI doc if she would agree to let me do a trial course of Welchol (in pill form, because I would gag on the gritty liquid stuff). ...

I would just like to share that there are fabulous, totally GF bakeries in two places I've been in CA. One is on Larchmont Blvd. in LA, and the other is on State St. in downtown Santa Barbara. A funny story about the one on Larchmont Blvd is that my daughter ordered a birthday cake for my little gra...

Hi Meggie, Just wanted to say that I traveled to Ireland a couple of years ago, and it is very easy to eat gluten free there. I was 2-1/2 years out from my diagnosis, though, and had been gluten/soy/dairy free for all that time; your situation is trickier. if you go to the local Tesco supermarket th...

Hi Marcia, Were any of your meals in Cape May at The Lobster House? I have safely eaten there in the past, as long as I stick to the broiled seafood and am careful about the sides. I have gone to the South Jersey Shore practically every summer since I was a child (I'm in my early 60s, so that's a lo...

Stephred, I have arthritis and LC. Since stopping gluten, I have less pain than when I took Celebrex (NSAID) prior to my LC diagnosis. Gluten is inflammatory, thus eating it will continue to aggravate the arthritis, in my experience. A friend who has RA also stopped gluten and had great relief. Regu...

Treese, Personally, I am not a fan of either Silk Almond or Almond Breeze milks. I find them a little too thick. I like Trader Joe's, and also Full Circle Organic original unsweetened. But I have just gotten a brand called Califia to try. Whole Foods 365 almond milk is okay too. Vanilla Almond milks...

Treese, Unlike many here, I have not had Enterolab testing. I have eliminated gluten, dairy (though have recently been able to eat cheese in small amounts) and avoid soy to the greatest degree possible, as I had a horrendous reaction to edamame. I have also found that zucchini does not agree with me...
